He really did. Good poise with the puck, worked hard in the corners and in front (big block close in on a 3rd period chance there), and seemed involved as opposed to a passenger just playing it safe along for the ride. Good for him. I also liked how often Palushaj's name was called tonight, as he was very involved in the offensive zone, despite not walking away with much statistically as a result.

Yeah exactly but you never know man sometimes really bad luck at the start if it lasts long enough can pretty much cost you the playoffs. Have seen it happen before. Thankfully this team was able to come out of it and is now pretty well going on fire. 15/20 of our last potential points basically. Very good news.

Good win against a team we should beat (although you have to be a little nervous with our defense on paper). The Canes might not have been the biggest test for all the green guys on the back end, but it's a good confidence booster for the rest of the week.

I think if we manage to avoid our usual holiday meltdown we'll be good for 6th by the end of the season. If not, we'll be slugging it out for 8th.

Agreed, no need of that big slapper which lately he doesn't even hit the net. Take a good wrister and put it on net. The one he scored in pre season against Buffalo was one that really impressed me and didn't understand why he doesn't use it more often

He doesn't often have the benefit of being wide open in the slot though.

Palushaj needs some more love. He's drawn a penalty in every game he's been played in since the call up and has had multiple chances. I'm loving his speed and compete level. It won't be long before he pots a couple!

He really, really was. I don't know how many hits he ended up with, but I heard the number 7 at some point, and it wasn't just from friendly counting by the Bell Centre crew. Hits aside, he was also good positionally and in terms of gap control (I thought PK's gaps and positioning were much worse by comparison), and solid on the puck and in battles. Solid game from Emelin, for sure.

Didn't see the goal since I didnt watch the match yet. But yeah, that is Subban's problem when taking a shot, the predictable Slap Shot.. His stick is up way atleast 5-10 seconds before the pass even comes towards him.. so horrible aim, and predictable.

What a horrible 3rd period no wonder we tend to lose games in the third. Carolina is absolutly terrible When you get outshot in the third by a team like the Canes you really need to re evaluate what you are doing in that period.

Or maybe the Canes played more aggressive because they were down? Just because a team plays more aggressive doesn't mean the other team sits back.

They were in the same sequence. I thought that they would be better separate, there is more potential for them like that (I think).

With the level of parity I have come to expect, only one lousy game or two could tell a 6 seed apart from an 8 seed at the end of the season.

Hopefully Subban will make a better use of his wrist shot.
