So who's getting the updated Lightning license plates?
Are they making updated ones? If so, you can count me in...
on a sort of related note, where does a STH go to get their $50 gift card? I brought my registration to guest services and the lady said "They don't do that anymore" But it clearly states they do still do it in the Fan A-Z Guide I just got in the mail
Lightning Season Ticket Members who have a Lightning license plate will be rewarded for showing their team spirit. They can simply bring a copy of their 2011 or 2012 Florida vehicle registration and a photo I.D. to the MetroPCS Client Services Lounge to receive a $50 Forum Funds card to use throughout the St. Pete Times Forum on food and beverage.
Very happy finally updated the plates. Sad they used the away logo with the stupid wording. Should have just been the bolt and the tb lightning on the bottom.

I realize I'm in the minority here, but being a former Leaf fan, I'll admit I had a little problem following the Leafs/Lightning game the other night because of the uniforms. Didn't think that it would be a problem at the beginning of the season but now that they were side-by-side I thought the blues would be totally different but they pretty much looked very close in color at least on my TV. Good thing we only play them a few times a year but I see the point now some are making.....JMO

Didn't think that it would be a problem at the beginning of the season but now that they were side-by-side I thought the blues would be totally different but they pretty much looked very close in color at least on my TV. Good thing we only play them a few times a year but I see the point now some are making.....JMO
When they were practicing, I thought it was the Bolts that were out there.. When I saw the trainers, I thought they were our trainers.. I know what you mean.

My GF said the same thing. I dont get it. One of them is always going to be wearing WHITE, and the other will always be wearing BLUE. When they both start wearing the same color during the same game, then I could see the problem.

It's not really a big deal....It was just a case of getting used to who was wearing what that night....Obviously there are quite a few differences in the jerseys still, but if you followed a team for 18 years and then put both teams on the ice at the same time, it takes a little time to adjust to who's who. On top of that, the league a few years back changed from wearing white at home to wearing the solid colors which I still don't agree with. Home should always wear white - they usually look better.
Just doing an experiment...after downloading both teams' logos - both are almost identical in color with the Lightning logo being just a hair lighter shade. Leafs logo has 4% more black, 4% more yellow and 2% more magenta....essentially not very noticeable on a jersey. So yeah....we're pretty much the Leafs Blue with the Red Wings jerseys.....

I would be interested to see the difference in the shades of reds and blues around the league. People generally (and I say generally because I'm not directing this comment towards you) forget that the only thing that really changed with our color scheme is the elimination of silver. We cut way back on black, sure, but it isn't gone altogether and we cranked up the usage of blue. We were also told the victory stripes couldn't make the cut due to timing in the summer - so if we see them reintroduced next year then that's one more aspect to our uniform system that's a differentiator.
Sidenote: For our 20th season anniversary (Note "season" not "year"... I'm looking at you Ottawa) next year, I would love nothing more than to see our uniforms circa 1992 used as thirds. How badass would that be?
