I don't get to watch Granlund other than the videos that everyone posts so I was wondering if you guys could tell me in a comparison

Thanks.
I'd say that his vision is unmatched. Honestly, he makes my jaw drop atleast once every single game.

Unmatched might be reaching but I do think there are quite few players that have better vision than him. He seems to create scoring changes out of nothing, he's just way ahead of the game... He surprises even his linemates at times.

There is only couple players in whole world who has Granlund-like vision. I've seen few SO clever passes from Granlund which i have never seen in NHL(especially the chip pass to Ahtola from own blueline is amazing).

Not a bad comparison but what Ricky Rubio has done is unique. I remember when he made team USA players look like absolute fools in 2010 olympics. Other sport but Ricky Rubio is one of my favourite athletes in the world.

Mikael's almost-a-goal reviewed for a good while, no goal though.

E: Markus scored a goal again from Mikael's assist.

Why the Wild staff just don't get it and trade Granlund because he can't score goals. And even worse his saucers flutter

Granlund in his last 4 games (including EHT-games) 0+7

The Wild must sign him by June 1 or he can re-enter the draft. He wants to wait to sign until after his season in Finland, which is putting fear in a lot of Wild fans. Last offseason, the Calgary Flames had to trade defenseman Tim Erixon to the Rangers because he refused to sign.

"Our conversations with [agent] Todd Diamond and with Mikael, they've both indicated they're happy and looking forward to signing at the end of the season and coming over and playing here next year," Fletcher said. "There's no reason not to believe it. Who knows what's going to happen, but we recognize we're going to have to give him a very competitive contract.

"We have a lot of opportunity, he seems to have liked his time over here the last two summers and he knows [captain] Mikko [Koivu]. You never know. I never take anything for granted, but I think we have a very competitive opportunity for him."
If he doesn't sign within two weeks of the end of the season, trade the eff out of the kid.

100% sure he'll sign. It doesn't make any sense for him to re-enter the draft and get drafted by Columbus.

I wouldn't be worried because he has stated many many times he likes minnesota and it's the state of hockey. He would betray our national team captain Mikko Koivu. Knowing Granlund he wouldn't do this. He might want very good contract from minny.

Minnesota would trade him instead.

I agree with thomast. It's be a huge slap in the face to Finland to not sign with us.

If it did, he's only going to be projected as a AHL 1st liner, maybe a NHL 4th if he's lucky.

Because y'know, we all know that if his pass flutters or he doesn't score a goal a game, he's a bust.

As a Timberwolves fan/lockout refugee, this makes me a lot more excited about Granlund.

It's funny, once the Pistol Pete hype died down, for awhile the athlete that I probably saw Rubio compared to the most was Gretzky.

They both have incredible ball/hockey IQ, they are both few step ahead other players in the game. They're offensive imagination is amazing. They both can do plays that other have no business to do. Both are very unpredictable with the puck/ball they can make plays which you least expect. Rubio has 1 asset over Granlund which i like. He's very sneaky player.

Can't wait to see some video of this.

I thought Markus had done it in a lower league also?

Indeed, he's also cheered the same way both times as Mi. Granlund did @ the WHC.
