3 really nice moments stood out for Voynov

the block of a sure goal early in the 3rd

at the end of the 3rd, the ducks threw a dangerous pass through the low slot, and Voynov just picked it up and skated the other way like it was nothing

In OT, he had the puck at the half boards in the kings zone, with 2 Ducks players around him, and no outlet pass as 2 Kings were changing and Mitchell wasn't open. He showed great composure to just keep a hold of the puck for a solid 5-6 seconds under pressure along the boards before throwing it around to Mitchell when he was open. You would expect a rookie to just panic and either try and thread a dangerous pass through or just dump the puck and lose possession

He also made a very nice board play where he got body position first and then just skated out with the puck. He and Mitchell look very good together. I just don't think he will stick once Martinez is healthy.

Murray and Lombardi have already told him he can play in the NHL, but they don't have a roster spot for him. That hasn't changed.

Both Voynov and Lokitonov played well. Voynov has definitely proven he deserves to stay. Martinez has earned a spot as well. Difficult decision there. The next few games will be extremely important for both Loktionov and the Kings. If Loktionov can make a difference the next few games I think there is a good chance he will stay up and somebody will be waived or traded. Im not trying to demote Stoll, but I would love to see Stoll center the fourth line and Loktionov center the third for a few games. Just to get a look at Loki at center. Something like...

Gagne-Kopitar-Williams
Richardson-Richards-Brown
Moreau-Loktionov-Lewis
Clifford-Stoll-Hunter

God I always wanted the JJ and DD pairing on ES plays. I was so happy and convinced with the pairings of these two players. Any nay sayers you can go eat it.

Slava and Lokti played extremely well and calm. I was very surprised they didn't get a point. I guess we can blame that on stoll and brown

Quick kept us in the game, was a bit disappointed with the diving penalty which led to a soft goal. Clearly it was a gentle tap on the skates and 2 seconds later he decides to dive LOL.

Our inconsistent plays is annoying the hell out of me. We need to be consistent for 60 minutes not 40.

Hunter is obviously useless in the PP, get rid of him and put in Lotki

38 shots on goal, come on boys we need to bag at least more than one goal.

LIke one poster said, all that mattered was that we got 2 points.

If you're saying this, you know it's legit. I've never seen someone have a bigger mancrusch on Martinez than you.

Loktionov was great last night. He fits in our top six and was making tons of plays out there. If Brown could finish, he would have had at least one assist. I wonder if the Islanders would consider something around Martinez and Penner for Okposo?

Gagne - Kopitar - Williams
Loktionov - Richards - Brown
Richardson - Stoll - Okposo
Clifford - Fraser - Lewis

Johnson - Doughty
Mitchell - Voynov
Scuderi - Greene

Wow! Yes please.

Forgot they played together in Des Moines! Easy to fix though:

Gagne - Kopitar - Williams
Loktionov - Richards - Brown
Lewis - Stoll - Okposo
Clifford - Fraser - Richardson

Johnson - Doughty
Mitchell - Voynov
Scuderi - Greene

would love to have okposo but islander fans wants a "fair" value and i dont think penner and martinez would be "enough." But if it comes to that kind of deal, im all for it

Usually we don't get a win if Kopi and Doughty are point-less, so that's a good accomplishment.

Okposo is terrible. Guy has given up. No interest at all there.

And his contract goes up each year from here on out, as his production goes down. Not a good mix.

But of they did get him, they could put him with Penner and Stoll and it could be the Wizard of Oz line.

Brown couldn't finish a jigsaw puzzle that was four pieces short of being done.

His hands aren't the best, but at least his hard work gets him opportunities. He finishes better than guys like Richardson.

As an aside, whoever came up with the idea to have Kings talk at the Mariott should be fired. You end up listening to 5 minutes of Daryl rambling on about everything that Nick just finished talking about in the recap in order to give Nick time to get over there to start the show. I'm able to walk from the rink to where my car is parked on 4th street, drive to Pasadena, go to a drive through to get something to eat, and get home and if I'm lucky MAYBE I hear two callers. Lame.
TOTALLY agree. I can barely hear the callers and taking questions from people hanging out at the bar is proving to be a waste of time.

To be honest, I love Kings Talk and always listen but I'm tired of the production team not screening the callers. I know there are plenty of smart callers with good questions but usually it is overrun by people that are drunk/high, little kids, peoples girlfriends who have no idea about the sport or team, and the same redundant questions over and over. Is it really that big of a task to do a BASIC screening to at least keep the same same question from being asked twice?

Watched a lot of Okposo and Lewis, they tore up my local USHL team. Okposo is too flashy to thrive under Murray.

I don't get it...is Penner the Scarecrow, Tinman, Cowardly Lion or all three?

Great game for me, very impressed with the russian youngsters especially Voynov, great shot and didn't think he'd be so sound Defensively

So happy to get 2 points from that Anaheim team but the Kings couldn't bury their own mothers rotting maggot invested corpse even if it was sitting on their front lawn. Very frustrating. I don't know how anyone can blame TM for the Kings not finishing their chances, this falls squarely on the shouders of the players.

I think the key words for tonight should be "finish" (NOT finnish) and "execute". I didn't think Hiller was especially flashy but stayed in great position. Seemed like every puck hit him in the logo.

If we get 2 points tonight we are right back in the drivers seat.

GKG!

Is that from the staples center?
