As others have said, he needs to find chemistry and start gelling with the right mix. He has not had the benefit (I know, not yet earned, but you can't earn it if not given the opportunity either) of playing in the top 6 with more skilled players.

The last third of last season he showed what he could do given the ice time on the top 2 lines. I remember 2x last year when he came into Tampa and helped beat the Bolts.
I'm not saying Shannon is a bad player or that he will bust with us, I'm a big believer of the kid but reality is that he has been mediocre with us so far, he has a lot of time to improve though.

It just pisses me off to see Tyrell in the AHL when he could be playing with us instead of Jones or Ritola for example

Yeah, I did not expect that. At least not from Boucher. Downie was leading the team in +/- (and by a good margin over Marty and Stammer) in two consecutive years. Maybe that's Boucher's way of proctecting Downie, you know, "it's not Downie's fault, it's his linemates".

Nice to see Shannon get rewarded for his work. He has been playing much better since the Jets game and he may just now be "getting it". Certainly hope so because Purcell is looking like wasted money currently.

Getting hammered by Clarkson was a good thing for him because being a perimeter player on this team is going to get you in the pressbox.

I really thought that was a turning point in his play..He was fast as hell from the get go last night and was making good plays but not capitalizing...When Clarkson had that shot on Shannon, it's like it woke him up...I was hoping Boucher put him out on the ice a lot more, and i think he did put him out there a lot...Too bad he wasn't on the PP...

Does anyone else think that shot from Clarkson was a pretty dirty hit? I was pissed he only got 2min...thought it would've been at least been a double minor, major, or misconduct

They actually didn't even penalize him which again sums up the refs performance last night, clarkson hit shannon and shannons head bashed right into ryan carter who fell on top of shannon, carter was bleeding and a little woozy so he stayed down on top of shannon, and they called a holding penalty on carter. i don't know if it was dirty because the puck was in the area but it was borderline.

Teddy's had a few down games but he's FAR from "wasted money". The only player on this team that is "wasted money" is Kubina.

Agree, Teddy has been pretty good this season. That hustle on the backcheck on the two-on-one was something we don't see out of him often.

That's true. He did have that one miraculous backcheck. Agreed on Kubina.

Shannon is finally playing the way we've all been looking for.

I really like our top-6 right now.

9 - 91 - 16
22 - 4 - 26

Both lines have great chemistry.

I like Shannon on the 2nd line is well, it should up his value especially if he keeps playing this way.

Surprised at his ice time against the kings.

He needs to start turning those minutes into points.

I still do not like Shannon. Too small to play bottom 6 and not skilled enough to play top 6. Career best was 11 goals in 79 games. Bolts are his 4th NHL team, I hope he is on his 5th by the TD.

1 team, 4 teams, 14 teams.....who cares. He's in the NHL living his dream (and has a Stanley Cup and ring to go with it).

Who, Shannon ? He doesn't have a single playoff point in his entire career.

I'm pretty sure the PPG reference was to Penner-Perry-Getzlaf, the PPG line.
