Remember in the offseason when Jeff Carter was so upset that he was traded from Philadelphia to Columbus? Unfortunately for the Blue Jackets, there are rumors (including a report from RDS.ca) that he’s still not happy and would like to be moved.
We don’t usually report on rumors, but these have reached the point that Renaud Lavoie of RDS actually asked Rick Curran (Carter’s agent) if he has requested a trade. The response was predictable: he has not asked for a trade. After all, that might look bad since he’s only played in seven games for his new team. Somewhere Kim Kardashian is saying, “you have to give it some time Jeff.”
If true then it doesn't surprise me and I had mentioned in many a thread over the summer when the trade went down that he probably would want to leave before too long. Character guy.....when the going gets tough...Carter wants to split. While I can understand his displeasure I think it shows a lack of professionalism and a sense of privilege. Nash has more of gripe considering he's tried to stick through it all and has done what he could. I feel more for him then I do Carter who wants to bail after a dozen games and who has contributed pretty much nothing himself other than showing he's injury prone and may have a chronically bad foot. It may be a crappy situation there but I don't find his attitude very redeeming. Once again glad the drama is elsewhere.
If Columbus can wheel and deal a couple pieces not named Carter, Nash, and Johanson for a good goaltender...they can be a good team. Jeff just needs to suck it up and play more than 7 games for his team. Even with an average/below average defense group, they can win some games with a goalie in net they have confidence in.
edit: Don't trade the first round pick either. That will probably = Nail.

For his own good..this better be a rumor b/c otherwise he'll continue to have foot problems considering he keeps shooting himself in the foot.....
Can understand his frustration which I'm sure he feels but def don't condone the attitude if in fact he's feeling like wanting to bail so soon.
Having said this, Columbus has about as much of a future as the Euro...
This is bad because he might end up on the roster of one our of rivals.
Yeah can you imagine Carter with the puck on his stick in a great scoring chance against the Flyers in a pivotal moment in a decisive playoff match? We'd be totally screwed...

hahaha we may have to bring back the reinforced glass behind the nets for all his high and wide shots they will be seeing
If Carter is available i can see Brian Burke being very very interested again. Wouldnt want to see him on the leafs... keep him west.
Ha ha how ironic would that be considering the garbage they offered us for Carter in the first place. Man I am so glad Columbus is such a poorly managed team and we were able to fleece them. Every game I watch with Couturier and now Jake who seems to be rounding into form I am giddy and so happy we made such a good hockey trade...
Does anyone have a clip of Carter responding to the Couturier goal was it?
Even the picture is funny (if someone wants to post that feel free too).
I feel bad for the guy, I can't imagine signing a contract for my dream/ideal location and then being shipped out to Ohio for 11 years.
Here's what im thinking the thoughts of Columbus were at the time...

Any GM in the league trying to get Carter would be a fool if he didn't use that fact as a bargaining chip. They will have to take less, they are the desperate one.
