Simon Karlsson plays for Malmö in SEL-2 The team is making a great push to finally get back to SEL and have aquired tons of high profile players in the offseason (aswell as during the season). The chances for juniors to make the team and get good icetime (like for the Westerholm twins) is really slim. They are not in a rebuilding mode, and not likely to have patience with unpolished juniors.
Since the team has loads of injuries he might be the 7th d-man in next game.
It's a shame though, the team had a good promising group of juniors where a lot of the players have chosen to go elsewhere (CHL, other swedish teams) since the opportunities for youngsters are few and far between in Malmö.

He has trained with the senior team now and then and played some preseason game, but has yet to get any icetime in SEL-2. He is 9th on the depth chart among d-men right now. On a normal SEL-2 team he would have been given a chance by now, but Malmös team is stacked for being a SEL-2 team. Among others they have they recently aquired the former Columbus-player Jean Luc Grand Pierre that I personally think is a awful hockeyplayer even on that level allthough he is tough.

Where did you watch the game? Fasthockey.com? What forwards stood out for sweden?
Well, Sweden was outplayed for most part and had basically no sustained pressure at all at even strength. I'll give them that they kept USA to the outside quite effectively and didn't turn over the puck a lot. Bystrom had a great slide to prevent a 2on1 and Dansk saved a few breakaways, but the D as a whole had a good game. For Forwards Nilsson, Possler and Karlsson had somewhat good games but the goal was a total fluke. Sweden, Russia and Czechs are carrying J18 teams while Canada and USA have lots of -93 born and a couple of -92 born aswell. The Swedish team looks massive though, so shouldn't be a problem.

He is paired with Magnus Johansson, and I would say first pairing is Magnus Johansson and whoever he plays with. When it comes to minutes the three defender veterans Johansson, Hävelid and Åkerman (three first pairings consists of one veteran and "a younger guy") gets more minutes than their partner, including minutes i power play and with a man short (3-4 against 5).

Haven't seen him myself, but here are his stats with Brynäs in the J20 SuperElit league (he leads the team in points):
He's also played a total of 6 minutes and 25 seconds over six games with Brynäs' SEL team.
Dunno if he actually played in all six games, but he was dressed at least.
He's the son of Brynäs veteran Ove Molin, who played in the SEL as recently as last year.
Emil Molin seems to be the junior that is first in line to get to play with the seniorteam. However Brynäs got 14 forwards under contract so unless there is some injuries he will have a hard time getting icetime.
There is quite a few Brynäs forwards that have expiring contracts + Järnkrok, Silfverberg and Johan Larsson that might be ready to move over to NA, so spots might open up next season.
Tim Heed is putting up points as always, he have 18 points in 19 games so far and leads the scoringrace for d-man in Allsvenskan with a wide margin. However I don't think he has progressed as well defensively as you woud have hoped, he is still a below average skater and you can still tell that he used to be a forward (weak positioning). I don't think he will ever be a NHL-player.
A d-man that has that kind of PP-quarterback skills will however have a very sucessful career and rack up a lot of points wherever he plays, but his flaws are too obvious to ever make it to NHL(hopefully I am wrong). If he just was a better skater I would have more faith in him.
