To be honest, I don't think these are that big losses. Komi will be easily replaced (for better or for worse) by Franson. This will give us a good look at him with few games under his belt.

Lombardi? those who sympathize with him because he missed a year due to injury and wait for him to come around. I seen this movie before with Eric Lindros and Jason Allison.

For a third liner he's way over paid, too soft, no intensity, too small. Next Please. Trade a mid rounder for a temporary 3rd liner. Call up Calgary, their entire team is full of 3rd liners.

Komisarek may be out a while.
Why do you come to that conclusion from the article referenced?

agreed.

Reimer, Grabo, and Mac are big losses that are hard to replace, even with good depth.

Lombo and Komi aren't really big losses - not that they suck, but they should be fairly easy to replace with our depth. Replacing Lombo and Komi with the likes of Kadri/Colborne and Franson/Aulie shouldn't be much of a downgrade at all.

True, they are not major losses if you just look at numbers and stats.

But if you think of the actual make-up of the team they will have an impact. PK which is awful, likely just got worse with these two injuries. None of our Dmen are particularly strong on the PK, but now one of Liles, Gardiner, and Franson will have to play major PK minutes. We're also down to our 5th or 6th best options up front on the PK with Armstrong, and Grabovski already being out.

People need to get off Komisarek. He had a Leafs high 4 hits last night and he was solid. He's really turned his game around and once we are healthy, I hope he can keep playing like this.

He has been playing great.

But I think this will allow us to get a good look at franson. Then we can decide whether or not to trade franson.

I agree. I said it yesterday, Franson just hasn't been lucky enough with our injuries to get a spot to play. Now, he might be, so he really needs to show us what he's capable of.

pretty much, I am more worried about komi injury than lambo. Komi has really turned it up and playing good top 4 minutes. People now just use him as a chew toy whenever something happens though because of the last two years.

Komi defintely has been playing much better recently. They're going to miss his physicality. Franson isn't that type of player, so really it's up to Schenn and Dion (who has been a reverse-Komi and played significantly worse recently) to step it up. At least the Leafs have enough depth on defense to deal with Komi being out for a while.

Not sure about depth on forward, though. They're already having problems scoring recently, losing more forwards can't be a good thing.

Komisarek has been playing really well lately, but I still think he is replaceable.

Anyone else find it ironic...

How Komisarek looked like he found himself again these last couple games and then he gets injured last night...like anything worse could go wrong for us right now!

That might be a good thing because it sounds like they may be able to be put on LTIR (long term injury reserve) and if that is the case, the Leafs can use up to their cap hits to replace them, essentially.

We havnt had a full team yet this year and still playing well. Once we have a full team I think this team could be scary but right now with all these injuries hopefully gives a couple guys (ie colborne kadri blacker/aulie) maybe a chance to show what they got.

I find it "ironic" how many people don't know what irony is.

Assuming there is cap room to call them up.

Hopefully Franson can step up and play some meaningful minutes here.

I would say if Kessel got hurt that would be worse. I don't know maybe I'm wrong.

Ron Wilson said the Leafs will likely be calling up someone tomorrow. Team's hoping Marlies don't sustain any injuries tonight.

One might say that these injuries aren't huge, but still think their impact will be felt. With Komisarek it's the first hit to the blueline and hopefully the only one since we don't need that going down too.

But Lombardi it's yet another forward hitting the IR. He might be more depth for this team right now, but if you lose most of your second line and your depth it's not a good situation.

Sucks for Lombardi considering how he's slowly worked his way back into form. He has to be a healthy scratch any time we ever play Nashville again. That city hates him.

Honestly, the hockey-gods have forsaken us, I doubt we'll have a full team with injury liabilities like Army, Tinny, Lambo, Reimer's uncertainty, etc...

We have not played 1 game this season with our full roster
I still say the Armstrong factor is the craziest. Our record with & without him is night and day. PK went down the drain too... forecheck & minute eating with lead & I can only imagine his impact & voice on the bench.
