I still remember last year, a few days before he got reinjured, someone started up a thread titled something like ' Markov needs to play more minutes!!'.

Then they dress Gillies and Martin so they tag team Markov.

Markov beats them both to death with his bionic knee.

It'll be a good test then...

There's no point in having Markov on the ice if he can't absorb hits...

If he's on the ice, it's because he's able to do anything - only thing they'll need to be careful with is his icetime.

If you know who Trevor Gillies is, you know I'm not talking about your run of the mill hockey hit. I'm talking strong hockey plays here

Some days I wish we could trade Gomez and Markov for Sean Avery, it would be less of a distraction to the team.

We signed a guy to a large contract who will likely miss half the season. I like Markov..but this whole situation is a giant mess. Where would this team be with Wiz right now?

Markov and Gomez - $13M+ *sigh*

Although Wiz is a good player...Markov is 10 times what Wiz will ever be.

Just watching that compilation made me think about how awesome of a player this guy is. He's dynamic, quick, great vision, great shot...he's basically the best type of D-man you want on your team. This guy is just...unbelievably good.

I'm willing to wait...especially considering how much better he makes.

I don't really mind squeaking in 8th place in the POs. It's a new season. And if we're relatively healthy by then, we can make some serious noise.

Now on the other hand, Gomez...nothing can save that *******.

You're overstating Markov's absence and you're throwing Gomez into the mix without cause. I would imagine that some of Markov's salary comes from insurance. If you're under the impression that Wisniewski is as good as Markov, then you've parked your judgment where you can't find it.

I don't care about who's paying for his salary. Frankly, we have all that money in 2 players who are doing absolutely nothing for this team and players who have done nothing for this team in a while (granted, Markov was injured but still...)

And no. I did not say Wiz was better than Markov. He' IS better than an injured Markov though.

Any word on Spacek? We went on a winning streak when he came back and since we lost him we blew the lead in the 3rd against the Rangers and lost 2 out of 3. I really think he's vital to that D.

If people want to talk about guys being injury prone....look at Spacek. One body check and...injured. I even saw it happening and thought to myself "that's it. He's done." The guy can't take a hit for the life of him.

He is quite injury prone. He's only played one complete season in his career.

Agree 100%. So... anyone...? What's the word on our vital, steady, brittle Spacek?

Personally I wish neither were a part of this organization.

Could have spent the $$$ Markov got much more efficiently elsewhere.

Who was out there this summer who could have replaced Markov? Wiz!? Not with that contract. Markov was in fact the best UFA out there this summer. Was it not for a set back due to him pushing so hard to come back he would've been back much sooner.

At least Markov wasn't suspended--or traded over and over like a useless playing card. Wisniewski isn't worth his salary.
