I think we have the depth on D. We just haven't really got lucky enough for an injury to let him play.

I totally agree..just unlucky to have several forward injuries and no D injuries.

The more i think about it, the more i dont want to trade away our Depth on D (unless we are dumping a big contract i.e. Komi).

I would much prefer to develop Franson in NHL and trade Komi for something.

Unless we are making a major play for a 1C, no reason to give up bluechip prospects.

Lucky????

Franson playing instead of a healthy Dman is coaches choice, and shouldn't require injuries to insert better players if available.

I'm not saying Franson is better at all. That's why he's not playing. And I meant unlucky from his point of view.

If we are to deal franson it should be for a top 3 player while adding some pieces.

Sometimes you better accept the first offer and hope the other GM doesn't wake up before the paperwork is filed with the league...

The grammar police strikes again.

You needed to add a comma after "top 3 player" for it to mean what you intended it to mean.

But that's OK.

i just dont understand the hatred toward franson. He has only had one bad game on the few opportunties he has had, the game in boston. Give the kid a chance and he will be solid for you. I am totally prejudiced cause i have sharpened his skates since he was 4 yrs old. Being a Leaf is so huge for him and his family, you would not believe. watch tonights game again and you will see he was one of the better d'mans

Franson will get his shot now.

And yea, I wouldnt have traded him for that package, what would it have done for us? Omark is a downgrade on kadri and the second round pick might play for us 3-4 years. I would trade franson though for a good forward prospect with size.

Hindsight's 20/20, he's too valubable now to trade if Komi is out for an extended amount of time, Lashoff's injury also hurts. A lot of depth to a scarcity if these guys keep falling.

Why are people thinking Omark for Franson is a good deal? That probably one of the worst deals Ive ever heard for young sought after defensive talent. Omark isnt even playing for Edmonton. You remember Edmonton right? This is the team that finished in last place a season ago. If he's so good, why isnt he playing? Because he's awful. This is a no brain decline. Stop this foolishness.

Would not call Omark awful but I do agree that the suggestion that Franson for Omark would be a good deal is awful. We have no use for Omark.

lol are people really talking about that?

Omark really isn't that good. He's just good with his hands, dangling and spinning into nowhere. I don't see him being anything more than a 2nd/3rd line tweener which is a decent hockey player but its not worth trading Franson for IMO and when healthy, we're fine at forward.
