Potential Nashville - Tampa Bay trade.

If we offered you guys Ryan Ellis (highly touted offensive D-man and future PP quarterback) + Anders Lindback (highly touted future #1 goalie), what would you give us in return. The hint is that we need scoring help up front.

Brett Connolly + A high pick?

Or Ryan Malone and something something

Or Lindback for Connolly straight up

This is a great base for a trade. You should bring it to the main board.

I highly doubt the Lightning have any interest in trading Connolly.

When hell freezes over. How is Lindback fair value for Connolly?

I don't think we are looking for prospects right now. We need a guy that can come in and contribute now, and I don't know if either of those guys really fit the bill.

What about something involving Connolly and Suter?

Lindback for Connolly is out of the question. Ellis and Lindback for Connolly and a 2nd is something I would consider.

A future Number 1 goalie for a future Top 6 scoring forward, what's wrong with that?

Scared of backup goaltenders that could be #1s, even through the "no-way-in-hell-you're-leapfrogging-Pekka" understanding... I have scars of Denis.

Something involving ellis and connolly might work. But obviously we are extremely high on connolly right now as he is making an impact already

As BG has said we have been burnt too many times on trying to make good #2s a #1, including a goaltender from Nashville. Connolly straight up is too much of a risk. Plus Connolly is a top six scoring forward now, Lindback is not nearly as proven as a #1. Basically...

Ellis = Connolly
Lindback = 2nd

I feel we are losing just a bit on the Connolly deal and winning just a bit on the Lindback deal, combine them together and it's pretty good value for both.

Lindback, though, played exceptionally well last year with his workload.

He did, but he also has just a total of 24 games under his belt behind a fantastic defensive team. Not saying he's not a very good backup but I'm also not ready to anoint him a very good #1.

Combine all the uncertainty of how he would play as a starter with the fact he has adult onset still's disease and it doesn't exactly fill you with confidence. Goalies are bad enough with their hips and knees going, do you really want a goalie with inflamatory arthritis at 23?

Connolly and Ellis might be equal in this equation but Lindback isnt worth more than a 3rd or 4th round pick. Im sorry but he has proven NOTHING and Im not giving up a high pick for that. Not after all the crap we have dealt with coming in trades before this. Fool me once.....

How would the Preds be able to afford to keep Connolly? Just wondering.

I'd do Panik+Garon+1st/2nd for Ellis+Lindback.

A goalie would have to go back to relieve the pressure of a 3-headed monster. Panik has shown he has amazing skill but the compete level is the only question. Perhaps being pretty much guaranteed a NHL spot will spark him.

Pretty good proposal, IMO.

I don't like the idea of trading a top 6 player for a goaltender period. If the system in front of a goaltender is solid, it can make an average goalie a top 15 in the league. Just look at Clemmensen's numbers when he spelled Brodeur a few years back. Look at what Roli did last year. I would rather bring up a goalie through the system than waste a top 6 forward in Connolly.

Another good point.

Hell if anything we should be looking at another defender.

He's a UFA isn't he? Same as Weber...

I've given up on Weber, I think he will renew with them but Suter... give them a 1st + Malone + something nice
