Sorry, should have made it clearer. As the others pointed out, I was trying to say that the actual miss itself by Smith was worse than the one by Stefan. The Stefan miss definately had worse consequences (although the Stars still won that game) but Smith should hang his head for such a horrible **** up. Hopefully after the next Predators practice, instead of trying shootout moves, Trotz lines the players up at centre ice and they skate in on net one at a time and try and shoot the puck out of play from closer to the net than Smith was

On a side note, is it just me or has anyone else noticed the explosion of Smiths around the league of late? Since Jason Smith retired, there seems to have been some sort of Smith family memo that someone needs to make it to the NHL and a bunch of them answered the call. Zack, Brendan and Craig all currently in the NHL, Ben may have been if he hadn't got injured in pre-season, there are a couple more Smith prospects, a young Smith in the AHL (who played a few games in the NHL) and a few other Smiths that no longer play in the NHL as they went to Europe to play. Before this season, the name Smith never really stood out in the NHL to me (like Staal or Sutter does) but this season they seem to be everywhere. Does anyone know if any of them are related?

Can't believe I used to respect Recchi. What a tool. It's not enough that you won the Cup, you have to keep taking potshots at them?

Pretty much. We'll see what Kessel is really made of coming up here. If he's truly a "Hart" level player he'll carry this team on his back when they're not scoring 4 goals a game.

When you start missing guys from your top 6 forwards and over half of your D corps you can come talk about injuries.. The players you mentioned are easily replaceable for a game or 2.

Blocking a shot too, kind of feel bad that he was getting hated on by everyone, then he breaks his arm blocking a shot for his team.

Heh, Edmonton also has about 4 "Everyday" defensemen out, though the quality of the players missing (Sutton, Barker, Whitney, Corey Potter) and players left on defense for them isn't near what the Habs have.

"We" are pretty lucky that Diaz and Emelin decided to sign with the Habs this summer. Rotten luck for both teams' defensemen.

CBC just lost their Winnipeg game feed and are so far unable to recover it! Looks like they can use a qualified computer team in the Peg.

Jets 3-0 over Flyers 10 minutes in.

Any guesses on how many goals this one produces? I'm gonna guess 12.

Looks like Philly doesn't like afternoon games.

Or starting games against Winnipeg for that matter. Last time they waited til the Jets had 6 before starting to play. We'll see if this PP helps them come back after half that today.

Edit: Yup

Pretty soft calls this game. Always nice to see the Flyers lose(hopefully) regardless.
