I will be quite disappointed if we don't retain Biron.
Quote:
... Sauer even recalled one play from Biron’s last start where Sauer was bringing the puck up ice out of the Rangers’ zone and all he could hear was Biron yelling nice things about him as he’s rushing up ice.
I don't want to start a new thread so I'll post this here. Does anyone know why the Rangers had a 2 man advantage against Montreal last game after that large scrum? I read answers before but didn't really understand them.
It's amazing - when I was in college and the Rangers couldn't beat anyone else (literally) they had no problem winning in Montreal. Now... not so much.
Still, don't forget the Disaster on De La Gauchetière from a few years ago. NO LEAD IS SAFE.
So many painful memories from MTL, but this one probably takes the cake.
That being said, if any of you have never been to a game in Montreal, you really must. The atmosphere is like no other. I just regret was too young to really ever see a game in the old Forum. I can't even imagine what that must have been like.
i think it was too many men. Then the montreal player who was technically illegally on the ice as a 6th forward body checked dubinsky. So it was called interference.

During a delayed penalty for too many men on the ice (first penalty), the illegal player (still a bench player according to the rulebook) interfered with the play (delivering a check on the puck carrier) before Cole made it to the bench (second penalty).

Hope this clears it up.
cally probably deserved the instigator but other than not going mtl's way, i found mtl deserved their other penalties. The can complain all they want.

How do they decide who the illegal player is and he can't check a player with the puck, because he's not supposed to be on the ice? Thanks.
I'm one of Henrik's biggest critics, but I dont like the move. You want to use Biron when Henrik's workload is bunched up around a string of games.
Henrik has been very good this season, sans a few hiccups. But henrik is playing well of late, he's rested and healthy, and the team is playing great in front of him. Why screw with what's working?
To me, it's like Girardi or Torre not letting Rivera close a game against the Sox because they had roughed him up in recent outings. The guy is your ace, franchise closer. You live and die with him.
Dont get me wrong -- I'm a huge Biron fan. He's been a Godsend. And I like the fact that he's from Quebec and gets to play in front of family and friends.
But if they lose, automatically, the blame might go to Torts
Love the move to start Biron -- Henke sucks big time in Montreal. Think the last time he won there was in 2009, and even when we play against them at MSG, he gives up <3 goals.
Biron is good enough to beat this team. Just gotta play a sound game in the NZ.

What's the problem if he gives up less than three goals in MSG? Or was that a typo?
I think we should have started Lundqvist though.

Yes they're actually showing this game on Premier Sports! (the only tv channel we can watch NHL on in the UK) it's taken this long into the season for them to show a Rangers game! LGR!
Enjoy.
Have you been utilizing any of the online streams to watch the previous games?
