Posted this in the other thread, but I feel the need to repost it, given the situation/momentary bandwagoning and the thread title:

I'm as big a Gomez fan as you can find around these parts (/patonback), but I'm not jumping the gun.

It was one game.

Gomez didn't come out to talk after the game because he knew this too.

Bring it, Scott.

Great game by the Habs. When we get a healthy d, we will be a dangerous club to play against: timely scoring, an air tight defense, a great PK, and Price.

8-3-1 in the last twelve. Quite the turn around after that 1-5-2 start

The habs continue to scrape up points somehow. You gotta give them credit because alot of teams would fold under the same injury circumstances.

On another note, I've kinda found the rangrs record to be
flattering them this year, and today's performance only fuels that notion. They were pathetic.

Still pretty nice in context, Monday people wanted to crucify him, then he follows it up with 2 shutouts.

In a game like this though, it's hard to fault the star pickings for anyone because just about any Hab could be justified. I can't think of one player who didn't have a good game.

PS. Anyone like St-Denis' work in front of our net in the 3rd? I thought he was fantastic. Even better than I expected. Ice-time is slowly increasing, but I take that as a good sign.
As I Gomez detractor I have to admit he played a very good game. Flying, attacking, backchecking and very few give aways and that was because he looked before making a pass.

I don't know if you watched any of the exhibition games but St Denis played very well. Too bad he's going back to Hamilton.

Have to say, Gomez played one hell of an inspired game tonight. Looked great out there.

I was always on the bandwagon but I was pretty fed up with his performance against the Islanders. I posted a few tweets and a Facebook status with the message being about running him out of town. So quel surprise, he has a big game after that.

Maybe I should just crap on the guy every game.

It's the "Pearn/Nokelainen" factor.

And they could had been 9-3 and event 10-2 if they haven't lost in SO Monday and against the Isles.

Pretty amazing with that D.

Kudos to Ladouceur !

I got to give credit to our defense. The Rangers were awful today but you can only beat what's in front of you. Emelin and Diaz still have shocking decision making at time but they have their moments of greatness too. St. Denis is fundamentally sound, definitely doesn't deserve the hate. Weber was good and made an awesome save, the "vets" Gorges and Subban were steady as always.

Their goalies always tend to suck against Montreal, especially Rask.

I think it was people crucifying the Habs for blowing a 2 goal lead more so than them crucifying Price..

Good overall game by everyone. Kind of reminded me of the Canes game tho where Rangers were equally bad on this night.

Agreed. I was tough on him when I heard he was called up but he's proven me wrong in the three games he's played. Hasn't turned over the puck once in three games, +2 so far and has looked so good in the defensive zone.

Any hate he receives now (and probably when he was called up too) isn't warranted.

Senor Gomez did have a very fine game indeed and I am happy with that (now let's quickly trade him while he's at the peak of his value ) No seriously, good on him. Shows he can still do it at least once in a while

OTOH, Eller losing AK and now being exiled to the wing seems to have him in a rot similar as last season when he held the puck too long and looked a little lost... too bad, he was playing real good there for a while.

Goodgame by us but let's be frank, the rags did not put their best foot forward : very little oumpf on the forecheck, Richards and Gaborik invisible. Let's take the 2 ots, celebrate yet another shut out and move on

Bring us the Broons

I like Frederic StDenis. I have since camp. But 3games in & a certain sector of media is lobbying 4him over Emelin. #ThisCityWillNeverChange
But that's another story.

That's a total cop out. Rangers sucked badly in this one. Habs are down to their #11 d-man on the depth chart, and they want to deflect the blame on the refs? That's lame.
