Oilers deal blueliner Semenov to Florida

Sather should have done this. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=143711&hubname=nhl

For only a draft pick. Semenov is a big dman who is only 24 and 6'6 235. He can help our team. We need some toughness on d.

We don't know what the pick is.

Why does it seem like every trade that goes down is "something Sather should have gotten in on."

BTW, do not read the above as a defense of Slats. He's a moron who can do no right (see avatar).

And wave goodby to Drats, who would be spending the rest of the year in the minors if Sather made that move. The problem with the Ranger defense is not the rookies or the bottom pair. It's Roszival and Malik playing too many minutes and the fact that Poti was horrible until recently.

I knew it wouldn't be long before JOrtmeyer41 posted this.

Just because he is young and is in the NHL doesn't mean he is good!!!!!!!!!!!! Look at what he was traded for!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Semenov?

Have you ever seen him play? Sure, he's young and has potential but who would he be an upgrade over in our lineup right now? He can't go to the minors.

I wouldn't be surprised if the pick will wind up being a 4th, and maybe even a 3rd if Semenov is effective for Florida.

I will admit that you are consistent.

And one of these days...you may just be right on one of these trades.

Several years ago, Semenov was one of my favorite prospects. He was putting up good amount of points in the juniors, was touted as big, mobile, defenseman who plays a smart positional game and doesn't back down from challenges. Now, his upside is Marek Malik.

The pick is a 5th rounder if florida makes the playoffs a 7th if they don't. Belive me, he's isn't very tough at all. He hits less often then Malik.
