Just for your information, the Rangers are (as it is right now), the team with the best Points% in the entire league, with .676%.

(We've won 6 of the 7 games we had to play against Top-10 teams...)

Well folks, the mustaches are getting really thick, and we played 2 consecutive games at home where the road team simply handed us the game.

Anything but a loss would have been acceptable.. with that said, we did our job.

Positives:

Cole is playing great and I think is a great leader by example... All those ''size doesn't matter'' claims from last year are looking silly.

DD is really gaining confidence BIG time and is adapting really to big d-men... very smart and crafty.

Gomez is getting angry, which is what I think will be his marginal turn-around

We're getting production from our top players

We're a lot more aggressive with the puck -- give credit when it's due, good job coaching staff.

Our young D are getting better, not worse... healthy competition... it's going to be tough if all our vets get healthy, and stay healthy

The buzz is back at the bell, and the team is having fun again

Negatives:

We lack toughness and grit on our bottom 6 and D.

I want Darche to succeed, but White gets his spot once he's healthy.

Eller is showing signs of being too Danishy ... great culture, but a bit soft in hockey.

Darche, but if we can trade him

Agree with a lot of your post, but this is just so completely wrong.

You really have an obsession against this guy, a bottom line forward who is doing his best. Not great, but not as terrible as you might think.

we don't need to trade darche...if we're healthy he is the PERFECT 13th player on the team. he knows his role, a vet so won't matter if he rot in the stand, and he won't complain.

Well well well, whadayaknow. Plecks on the point is starting to look good and Gomez had a great game.

Awesome effort by the boys tonight. Price looked solid from the get go and the forwards really helped out that young D. Gotta say, that St-Denis kid looks good out there.

Solid game by the whole team.

Great game, great effort, solid 60 minutes and another solid performance from Carey. Sucks the Sabres had that great 3rd period, should have registered his 3rd straith shutout.

Anyways keep it rolling and stop another winning streak on Monday!

BTW, did you guys catch Bob Cole's call in the final 2 minutes of the game? You know, for all the mistakes he makes, he just showed me that he he's still got it. It gave me goosebumps.

His voice is great, and he was really excited near the end there. When NY had a couple of chances to score in close in the final minute he made it sound like the game was on the line, very impressive considering we were up 4-0.

Too bad White's injured. If he was on the ice on that 4th line:

Well, consecutive shutouts will do wonders for your stats However, this game and the one against Carolina were special because a collection of young players helped preserved it for Price. I was looking for veterans but all I saw was Gorges. Where the heck did St-Denis come from to play so well? I remember a play behind the Habs' net in which he controlled the much bigger Brian Boyle.

Yeah what a dirty hit by Deveaux. Nice to see Noky defend himself though.

Habs do like to up their game for the top teams or those on hot streaks while crapping the bed against non-playoff teams, don't they?

Hopefully that streak continues against the Bruins on Monday.

The young D did fine. Cole is awesome. And, it was nice to see Gomez play a strong game.

Tough week next week. Let's go Habs!!!

It's a fun narrative that we're going to hear a lot of over the next day, I'm sure.

Here's what the narratives won't mention:
1. teams that play two games in two nights, especially on the road, generally struggle. The Habs were starting with two strikes against them even without taking that inexperienced D into account.

2. despite an impressive record, the Rangers are a pretty weak club. Sure they went on a hot streak, but look at that shot differential. If their goalie wasn't as good as Lundqvist, they'd be well below .500.

Emelin is now tied with Moen for second in hits on the team. This is while playing 8 less games than Moen or Cole. His shot block totals are going up quickly as well.

Wasn't much of a fight. Nokelainen got hit from behind with a borderline boarding call, then got right back up and went after Deveaux, although kind of got manhandled by Deveaux, a few punches to Nokelainen's face and then the fight was broken up.

Maybe he's a closet Habs fan who really wanted to see Price get the shutout.

Hmmm, could he like both the Habs and Leafs?
