Horrid game tonight. And I had a feeling that was going to happen. I am not angry because were so early and going to forget this game come playoffs. But we cannot get used to losing now, so get back out there next game and win..
POTG is Prust and Devioux. The only players that but an effort into the game.
what makes this loss less painful to me is that pittsburgh, philly and washington all lost today...hopefully we can take at least 2 of the next four!
This is a really smart post because in the grand scheme of things, this is the stuff that matters. Montreal getting their two points after playing their best game in a month = whatever. PIT/PHI losing = more important.
I DON'T GET ALL THIS COMPLAINING ABOUT THE REFS OR THE HABS FAN OR WATEVER. THEY CAN CHANT OR SING WHATEVER THEY WANT, THEY PAID TICKETS FOR THE GAME JUST LIKE HOW I WOULD DO WHAT EVER I WANT AT MSG IF I PAID TICKETS.
BOTTOM LINE....WE SUCKED TONIGHT! NO QUESTION ABOUT IT. WE SUCKED! but i'm sure we'll bounce back.
Out of town this weekend so I didn't see tonight's game. I guess I picked the right game to miss.
I only saw the box so the following conclusions might be inaccurate:
1) The team was badly out shot which has been a problem in a number of games (despite winning some). The shot differential narrowed the last few games so I thought the team was back on track.
We shall see.
2)The team was out scored 2-0 on special teams play. I am more concerned with 5 on 5 play so I look at this as a 2-0 loss. My assumption is that the team that wins the specialty team game will win most games. With the team down 3-0 I assume that during much of the 3rd period the defense was playing more aggressively?
3)Did Biron play a solid game or did he let in some soft goals?
4)I saw Gab's, Richards, DZ a minus 2. Were there any mistakes that led to goals or was the team simply outplayed?

That's actually a pretty good line!
Habs fan here. Biron probably cost you guys a couple of goals, but as so many of you said, the Rangers were unusually lifeless tonight as a team. Understandable after your amazing streak, but it still sucks to be shutout. I appreciate most of you not resorting to throwing tantrums at the refs or the other team.
For what it's worth, I'd probably also throw pucks at anyone yelling "Ole ole ole" in the upper west side. What happened to winning and just shutting up about it?
Terrible game all the way around. Had the feeling it was going to be "one of those nights" within the first 10-15 minutes watching them cough up the puck.
Biron was pretty awful but it wouldn't have made a difference considering our offense didn't show up to play either. Same goes for the defense.
Del Zotto had one of his worst games of the season, not sure what the hell he was thinking trying to step up like that on a PK. Arrogant move that cost us and got Montreal's annoying fans into the game real fast.
McDonagh was sloppy, Girardi was sloppy (watched him make several ill-advised blind passes that ended up on MTL sticks in our zone).
EC was a ghost as usual, and was Richards even playing? Prust and Deveaux were the only ones I noticed.
Oh, and the refs were absolutely -BRUTAL- tonight. Typical behavior for a Hockey Night in Canada game though so it is no surprise. But even if the refs weren't in the bag for Montreal, we still would've lost. Just a stinker every which way you analyze it.

My thoughts completely. You saved me a lot of typing. As bad as the team played, as a viewer, these Refs made watching this game an even bigger nightmare. I hope that Auger( that's pronounced Ohshaa French Canadian style ) and Jackson, enjoyed their Hockey Night in Canada. I can't watch another game in that arena. It's the same thing every time.
Good news is that we only have to play in MTL once more this season.
I find the whole issue of "why can't we win in Montreal" to be over with now. The Rangers can win anywhere they make an effort. They even won handily in dreaded Vancouver...
They mailed tonight's game in, and they got run out of the building.
What people here should be frustrated about is how easy this win was for the Canadiens.
