Was happy with the signing in the summer and am ecstatic with his play now. He'll obviously have stretches where he isn't as effective, but if he brings this level of play to the postseason (if we're so fortunate) he can be a big difference maker.
What a pick up by Gauthier. Cole has complimented the team so well, like Overlords said, he's like that long-skinny piece in tetris.

But yeah, I stood by that prediction all summer, and throughout his 'slump' at the beginning of the season. He's just too fast, smart and physical to not work on this team.

That's what I think Cole brings to the table. On the nights where he won't put up point, his big body will create the space necessary for others on his line to put up those points.

Hey man I even gave you credit, people glanced right over that part!
Wonder what happened to all those who said that Martin was right to play Darche over Cole on the PP? That Cole was only effective 5-on-5?
Sounds like he was listening...

Erik Cole scored the game-winner less than four minutes in on the Canadiens’ first power-play. It was Cole’s third PP goal so far – matching his total in Carolina last season.
“I’m maxed out,” Cole joked. “Might as well shut her down for the year.”
I don't think anyone in their right mind supported Darche on the PP, but I can understand Martin's thinking behind doing it; put a hard-nosed grinder down low to mess with the goalie. It just didn't happen to work out though.
I said this in the GDT last night: saying it was obvious to put Cole on the PP is a guess at best because there's no history to support the move, but it turned out to be a good guess so far and that's all it is.
Saying it was obvious is the luxury of us armchair coaches who happen to get a lucky guess every now and then.
Cole is a winner and has dug deep to find the gears that have given him success in the past, Movember and the stache has helped him, (don't shave it) him and Patches are a refreshing option in games where speed and small are not enough. I like the way things are shaping up for this team, so many injuries but winning by commitee. Go Habs Go!!!!!!!!!!!!
On thursday both RDS and TVA sports showed a segemnt on a meat market in the small town of Lavaltrie (my hometown) where they have a new promotion, everytime Erik Cole scores a goal, you get a free sausage package. He scored 2 goals in 2 straight games since then
They should have used Gomez instead of Cole for the promotion...
They did at 1st, that was the whole point. Problem is, he sucks so much the promotion couldn't work because it happens too far off. Best part of the interview was when he sais he tried to make a Scott Gomex saucage to go with the promotion, but it came out invisible and with no flavor
