The most of any team so far this season.
Are they not skating hard enough?
I realize some calls are bogus but not all of them are - completely frustrating to watch as we are one of the best teams 5v5 but we don't play enough of it.

Teams trapped in their zone for awhile seem to do that

Most teams take a lot of stupid penalties. Some is reputation, deserved or not. Some is laziness. Some are bad calls. I haven't looked at the stats this year, but Hartnell is normally up there in minor penalties. Rinaldo gets the reputation calls. Briere usually gets stupid penalties like high sticking and slashing. I've grown accustomed to it. Haha.

Honestly, I've noticed that a lot of the stupid penalties we take are in the opponents zone on the forecheck.

I have seen this as well - didn't want to say anything.
Our PK has been great, but they have to be, constantly playing together.

My favorite was when Rinaldo coasted 10 feet into a guy and got charging.
Best penalty of the year.

• Toss around puck on own zone
• Lose puck
• Panic
Repeat as necessary

Maybe its just our nature when this is a aggressive forechecking team.

I understand hockey and being aggressive on the forecheck. A lot of silly stuff are stick infractions - the players aren't moving their feet. I think you can be hard on the forecheck and still not take as many penalties.
We are one of the best 5v5 teams in the NHL right now - I just hope the players understand skating hard all the time will reward them with more 5v5. Just frustrating to watch.
When they get momentum it's almost as if they don't want to hold it.
I'm not for a conspiracy... altho some PIM's that are called are utterly insane.

Easy answer - same reason we have for past several years
Briere high sticks and Hartnell goalie interference - these guys will never learn, apparently. Take these away and we are an average penalized team.
