I don't think we have a good enough 2nd line LW in the system or on the team.
And that's a valid concern. I think Parse (I know, not the sexy name that most are looking for) played well there (without the penalties) and like to see him reunited if and when he comes off I/R. I also think guys like Penner, Lokti and Richie all should be given another look.
I'm definitely not oppose to adding and if we were to add, I'd agree that it should be a 2LW.
Kings need a 1st line winger more than we need a 2nd line LW. The Kings are close because they have two great centers, a great goaltender and a solid defense. But this team still needs someone to play with Kopitar. Williams and Brown are very inconsistent players.
We also need to upgrade the entire 3rd line... Penner, Stoll, Moreau is truly a pathetic third line any way you slice it.
I thought the Kings may be able to contend this season if things fell into place, but more than likely next season. We just don't have the scoring to get it done. You can win without huge scoring from top lines but you need secondary scoring from players like Stoll, Penner, Richardson etc and the Kings haven't gotten a lick this season from any of those guys.
Was thinkin about this one the other day...how bout Stoll and Hickey maybe a pick for Kaleta - Boyes,
I'd say that safely bolsters up our bottom 6. And Boyes could play top 6 also if Murray wants to go chemist..
Gagne - Kopitar - Williams
Penner - Richards - Brown
Moreau - Loktionov - Boyes
Richardson/Clifford - Lewy/Fraser - Kaleta
Hunter/Westgarth
Gives Buffalo a bottom 6 center they need to compliment Gaustad on the PK and on the bottom lines, and an offensively oriented defensive prospect they wouldn't mind having I am sure.
Boyes is a ufa at the end of the year and in all honesty he is likely to get a pay cut from his 4mil if we were to keep him....and Kaleta is an RFA. It gives Buffalo some cap space to work with which they currently don't have (about 2.5 would open up for them.) and we would get some meat in the bottom 6 that we could shed next year if it doesn't work out.

If we want to upgrade the bottom 6. Kaleta > Westgarth in an enforcer/agitator role
Boyes > any wing we have on the bottom 6 right now.
I actually think a line of Moreau - Loktionov - Boyes would be a dynamite combo of grit and skill.
Wow, somebody on this board actually thinks highly of Moreau as much as I do. I also like Boyes and he could probably be had for cheap. Not quite sure what happened to his scoring the past few years but if we can get him for cheap, I'm all for it.

Moreau is what he is. He's a sandpaper 3rd liner. I think he would do well opening the ice up and getting in the dirty areas for guys like Boyes and Loktionov...who are not shy of mucking it up either.

I see him more as a bodyguard than a sandpaper but I agree with the rest of your post.
I wouldn't say broken, but yeah, there are some concerns. But I standby my statement that we have all the players needed.
I support that notion. No one can blame the roster at the end of the year. We have the team required to go the distance. They just need to step up and our coach needs to adapt; however likely or unlikely that is. In the end, Lombardi gave Murray the team he needs.

Should we claim Bergfors? Would give us a skilled bottom 6'er.
Hard to say really. He's even more enigmatic than Frolov was and could end up as thenew Ponikarovsky if he was brought in. I could see him and Murray not working together at all. That said he brings an intriguing amount of skill with him where he might be a decent fill in at least until Penner, or Parse are back.
Guys like Brown, Stoll, Penner, and even Bernier should be available for trade. Guys like Hunter and Moreau have also gotta go.
We need smarter and faster players
If those guys really are that bad, what can we get for them? Why don't you virtually trade those 6 players and tell us which 4,5,6 players do you expect in return. Thanks.

Nope. Guy has skill but there is clearly other issues in his game if a skilled kid like this is being waived after playing on his fourth team since February of 2010. On his last two teams as well, 2 goals and 9 points in 31 games. That's Penner production levels. We have that already, why would we want it again? Pass.

We need smarter and faster players, and for the system to change in order for the team to be successful.
The only one on that list I will agree with is Hunter honestly. Guy hasn't shown he has anything left in the tank. Moreau, complain all you want, he's actually been decent in terms of effort out there and is one of the few guys with size on the 3rd/4th lines. Bernier is a great backup to Quick, and no way I trade him until Quick is signed long term first. Penner won't fetch us anything so we are likely better to keep him and hope he turns it around, and the same goes for Stoll, not to mention both are UFA's so if they don't, they walk after the season is done.
And Brown, why on earth would you want Brown gone?
I'd also like to see Lokti stay as well. Lokti is the less confident of the two, but I think his confidence will come and he and MR are starting to click. Lokti made some excellent passes. MR seems to know exactly how to play with him (more props for MR's hockey IQ). Worst case Lokti cna take over Stoll after the season.
But clearly Voynov has got to stay up here. He has been brilliant for a rookie and I see much more potential in him than A-Mart (although I like him too). Not only that, A-Mart can get us some decent value I think.
Perfect deadline players for the Kings are available in Winnipeg, Slater and Wellwood. Wellwood has played smart hockey, while being pretty damn good offensively(15pts in 20gp), and Slater is an awesome shutdown center that wins faceoffs, Pks, blocks shots, does everything defensively. I would not want the Jets to deal either, but both are UFA's at the end of the year and at least Slater I am thinking Wpg could lure back as an UFA. Something like Parse + Moller + Kozun + 2nd I think would be enough for Wpg...
Gagne - Kopitar - Williams
Penner - Richards - Brown
Richardson - Stoll - Wellwood
Moreau/Hunter - Slater - Lewis
