1. Build a new downtown stadium
2. Move the Rays to Montreal
...
100. Profit?

Hey guys, I was looking through some of my Grandfather's photos he had kept on old computer. He passed away in June and I've realized some of his photographs had never really been shown to anyone. Just thought I'd share a couple on here.

Edit: The two of the Stadium are from the Olympics (apparently '76 and '75 respectively) and the one of the inside is from 1987, the first game played with a roof on the stadium. I'd upload more, but I've reached my quota for uploads.

Both.

I don't know if Griffintown would be the ideal place for a stadium a la MTS Centre should a team move back to Montreal, though.

I couldn't divorce myself from the team after they moved. Plus I don't blame the city of Washington. I hate what happened to the Expos, but hating on the franchise that they became following their relocation never really made sense to me in a practical sense. On an irrational, emotional scale, I absolutely get it. Logically-speaking, I don't.

I hate Bud Selig, and the Florida Marlins' head honchos. I don't hate the Nationals because for me, they were the Expos in another city.

Besides, the team today is nothing like it was in 2004.

I know it seems wrong, and my dad keeps giving me hell for it (he hates the Nats), but it's not easy for me to just sever an emotional tie to a team because they're no longer in this city. That's what happened in 2004, and that's why I'm a Nationals fan today.

I love how the 3rd picture shows where Saputo Stadium is now built.

Awe Cold ..Come on! They burnt, sold..incinerated anything to do with the Expos when that team became the Gnats! That's not our Expos... we were trashed & a new team was created by Bud Selig!

I remember fighting a year long to keep our history, MLB was giving in to the new owners at one point & wanted to erase the history from the books entirely. Seems we all came to an agreement & that the Expos belong to Montreal & the Nationals are anew startup team from scratch.

DC = carpet-baggers, your not aloud to say the word DC, or any form of National in my house, at all.

OT: Toronto fan?

Hey guys,

As a long time montrealer I was simply wondering if a few of you are still watching baseball? I ask the question because it's been a while since the expos left and I never stop following baseball but I have a hard time to be a Jays fan since they are ....Toronto!

If you are watching baseball is it the case for you or are you able to cheer for a toronto team in the summer and then hate them the winter?

I love the Jays !

I was so happy when they got rid of Vernon Wells...He was like the Scott Gomez of the Blue Jays

I don't hate Toronto, just the Leafs (and their fans). I like the Jays, especially since Anthopoulos is the GM!

I'm a Jays fan. But would instantly jump ship to the Expos if they came back.

Btw, their new jerseys are amazing! And, as far as baseball goes, their a really exciting team.

I watch a fair bit of Jays games the past couple of years. Have the baseball package on satellite. It's frustrating following them because I know they are a pitcher or 2 and a bat or 2 away from a legit strong team. Every year they say the budget is not an issue and when they are ready to contend they will spend big money but it will never happen. They've been stroking their fans for years and every year the fans think one year it will happen.

Do they have a chance with Boston/NY and now the pretty tough Rays team? Probably not unless they have a 120-130m budget. It's funny that even the Marlins will probably surpass the jays payroll this year.

I probably wouldn't be as frustrated if there wasn't so much BS from the team's PR dept. Money is no issue (apparantly), but this offseason we will look at the trade route instead of signing a big name FA, I mean, you have to laugh at it some point.

But, since they are the only team left in Canada, and every other team is American, I have no choice but to watch and hope they win. Just wish they'd cough up the bucks and sign some top free agents already.

Building a stadium right next to the Bell Centre instead of that awful parking lot would be awesome. Oh man it would be!

They were saying that if the expos were to come back, they would build the stadium next to bluebonnets because there are a lot of places to eat there

Absolutely, I stayed away from Baseball for a few years after our Expos left, But a couple years ago I started following the Jays and I love it. I probably caught 80+ games last season, and I plan on watching them some more this upcoming season. Although if the Expos return, See ya!

The new Blue Jays (not Jays) uniforms are among the best in the league, if not THE best.

I love 'em. I think that they're really sharp and one of the things that the team needed. What they'd been thinking the past decade was just...

Did they ditch the black/silver away ones? How are those the best uniforms in the league? They look so similiar to past jerseys of the jays. I'd have liked something a bit more modern. The black/silver one is one of their best, not those..

The Jays are always marketing their brand. IMO the powder blue are the Jays. I'm almost worried that if we don't get our business in gear & get a team back, that Toronto will eventually steal our Tri-Colours. Montreal's colors are gorgeous!

So they are going back to the Blue Jays now? I like that retro logo and suits them better then just the Jays

Slight difference, but almost the original bird. The Maple Leaf is there that's the important symbol!
