Can We Write in Matt Read?

I think he deserves a good support of write ins. Not that he would really be considered snubbed if he didn't make it, but I don't really know his chances.

Obviously, this is for the All-Star game, which I know no one is crazy about, but it's cool to see your players go and it's an awesome experience for them.

I'm sure you could, but I would say he's been more impressive considering his circumstances getting/playing in the NHL at this time...as opposed to comparing him to the top performers in the league.

It's not hockey though. There is no checking or defense.

I voted for Read, Giroux, Bryz and Big Daddy Prongs.

LOL

no, far from it

the ASG is basically what they want the league to become: No contact, all offense

The NHL allots us only one representative per season regardless of how good we are.

EDIT: Nevermind, last year was the oddity. Both Giroux AND Briere went.

Guys its a ****ing all star game. What do you expect the intensity of a SCF game 7 OT? It's not supposed to be physical.

Hockey is supposed to be physical, ergo the ASG is not hockey, it's hockey lite.

It's like saying Lactaid is milk.

Briere was snubbed initially though, he only went as injury replacement iirc.

Edit: He replaced Iginla, who didn't go for "personal reasons" ('I want a break').

Ah!

That's right.

Now I remember better. I thought it was odd because I remember thinking to myself that I was write about the NHL letting Flyers play in the ASG.

If healthy, the Flyers will probably have 3 representatives anyway. Giroux is a lock, and the league will want both Jagr and Pronger for the ratings (not that they wouldn't deserve to be there or anything).

Pretty sure Richards and Timonen went together too.

I just tested it. It's actually pretty decent quality porn.

I think if the NHL was always like the all star game, hockey would still be my favorite sport. Hockey-lite still entertains me much more than the NFL/NBA/MBA.
