Lehtonen Ready?

OK, Lehtonen has played 2 games for Chicago and tonight was one. He made 41 stops on 43 shots in his first game. Tonight he made 40 on 41. Is he ready? This question mainly goes to the people who have seen him play in his two games.

Why would you rush him? You have a goalie right now standing on his head night after night, I really would keep both goalies as starters for now.

I agree with the second part, disagree with the first. I don't believe in all this nonsense about rushing young players.

However, you have to win your spot and Lehtonen was unlucky having an injury. Meanwhile, Pasi is doing a great job out there. Why change something that works right now?

One way or another, good players rise to the top and win their spot. It's just a matter of time if he is good enough.

I didnt say we had to rush him and have him play, but if he had the chance, is he ready?

He needs to work on his rebounds. He's improving though, and quickly.

Injury or not I don't think Kari had a chance of making the Atlanta roster, when you have two NHL-level contract goaltenders in camp. Waive Nurminen and I'd bet he's claimed. Dafoe report to Chicago? Yeah right.

Why is Cassivi starting all the ******* games?!

I know it's early to get crying like this, but damn, I was hoping for them to at least alternate 1/1... I hope Lehtonen gets to start 2 out of 3 this weekend, could happen since Cassivi lost tonight.

Kari is still experiencing some pain in his groin last I heard. No need to play him so much that he aggravates the injury.

Oh thanx, I wasn't aware of that.

During tonight's broadcast they mentioned that Cassivi will start again tomorrow (he was in net for Friday's 2-2 tie with Houston), and Lehtonen will start Sunday.

Kari was interviewed after a game last weekend and said his groin wasn't 100% yet.
