Danny B

What's going on? He's been a passenger so far this season. His shot's not there and he's making constant mistakes. Is he injured?

He's destroying every line he's on too. Been awful this season. He's been detrimental to JVR's and Simmonds game IMO

He needs Hartnell back to pick up the slack defensively.

Play him on the wing when Schenn gets back.

Hartnell-Giroux-Jagr
JVR-Read-Briere
Voracek-Schenn-Simmonds
Talbot-Couturier-Rinaldo/Nodl/Harry Z

Or

Hartnell-Giroux-Jagr
JVR-Read-Voracek
Simmonds-Schenn-Briere
Talbot-Couturier-Rinaldo/Nodl/Harry Z

This team has some serious depth and really needs to ****ing get rid of Shelley.

14 points in 17 games is pretty solid in my book. I guess he really should be scoring at a PPG pace. Anything else really is unacceptable.

Briere is having his usual average regular season... as long as he wakes up in the playoffs, if the Flyers even make it this year, then he will more than make up for it.

I've definitely been disappointed w/ Danny B, but I feel like Simmer on his line has kind of been killing Danny's game all year long.

Simmonds can't protect the puck on the boards, can't finish easy chances w/ his hands of stone, and can't set people up either. He's like Hartnell but without all the redeeming qualities. Danny really needs a good cycling forward w/ a bit of skill (in the mold of Hartnell) to be at his best and Simmonds hasn't been playing that role well @ all this year. I hope we give JVR-Schenn-Briere a chance when Schenn returns in the next week or so...

He's not been playing at his best so far, but I think there's been some signs of progress lately. He will always be atrocious defensively, so we need to find forwards that can cover for him there and at the same time has chemistry offensively. It may take some time for that to happen, unfortunately.

Hard for him when he doesn't have Richards and Carter to play against the other team's best players.

Did you expect him to all of the sudden become a top defensive player? He's playing like he has his whole career. Contributing to the offense and pretty much that's it. Guess we just need a whipping boy.

His p/60 is near the bottom of the team.

Ten players in front of him.

The only regular forward he's in front of is NoGoal.

I like Danny, but he's not playing well.

Danny just kind of floats for the first 82 games of the season and as long as he floors it after that (and we KNOW it ahead of time and we actually do) then it's ok. I can't say that I'm happy about him taking the regular season for granted (if everyone did it we probably wouldn't make the playoffs) but at least we know Danny isn't going to be worn down mentaly when the post season comes around.

Maybe Couturier is too much for him to handle at home.

Like JVR, Briere has quietly been putting up points despite being disappointing to many people. 14 points in 18 games isn't terrible. If he gets in a groove with his linemates all will be well.

4 of those points came in 1st game against Jets so that makes it 10 pts in 17 games and thats not good. Briere is not having a good season. imo

to his defence Simmonds should not be playing with him. Simmonds does not have the skill to be on that line all the time.

His defence is terrible, he takes a ton of stupid penalties so he damned well needs to score a lot of goals to make him worthwhile. When he doesn't do that, there's a big problem and right now it feels like he's an aging hockey player.

For those who brought up the playoffs, where was he vs Boston? Getting schooled.

Danny is kind of one dimensional player (one can compare him to a WR in football) and needs someone with multilevel skills to compliment him- set him up, be able to cover more defencively etc. Therefore, I think Voracek or Schenn (if Briere moves to the wing) would have been good partners for Danny. I wish Lavi would explore this opportunity.

The same place, Mike Richards, Jeff Carter, Claude Giroux and about the other 17 players were. Danny isn't a defensive GEM WE KNOW THAT. The line combos are actually brutal for him to be honest. JVR is like carter on the wing and Wayne cant protect the puck enough to do him any good.
Personally Briere would excel with Jagr and Reader as his wingers, with JVR moving to a line with Hartnell and Giroux. My 2 cents, he just needs the right players to surround him
