I only got a chance to see 1 game (a playoff game), I live about 20 minutes from Kingston. Although I didn't have enough exposure to be able to give a report on him specifically, I know the team did very well and I know that the team as a whole plays a fast, quick passing game to get out of the zone and a net-crashing game in the offensive zone.

Its cool that someone from the Vees got drafted tho! I played a few exhibitions w/them

The Coaches on Walsh: A big and fluid player who has a great understanding of the game. He is a slick player with tremendous passing ability. Has shown good poise around the net and can be strong on the puck. He has great hands and the puck seems to have the ability to follow him around the ice. He has elite and power play potential.

What's not to like about this kid? After watching the two videos on him (albeit the level of competion is lesser but not terrible) I came away with - big, skates well, aggressive on the forecheck, backchecks, good on draws, has a quick release and seemingly heavy shot, loves to go to the front of the net, he even seemed to have a bit of dangle in him. Have I missed something? Again, what's not to like?

Ya, I've played hockey against him (our school is rivals with his) and ya...he decked me in the middle of the ice. Felt like I got hit by a freight train. His speed is very deceptive. In that video, it looks average but he flies by guys on ice. Really solid player that likes doing it all.

The video shows he's still very raw. He needs to work on his skating big time, but his hands and vision does show promise...

No he's not. I have confidence in him though he could turn in to be a JT Wyman.

By the way, anybody know the extent of his injury?

Dustin and Steve Quailer could be signed and brought into Hamilton as early as next season. They would add a little more size to a growing young team in Hamilton soon to be a growing young team in Montreal.I for one like the drafting done by Gauthier and Timmins &Staff.

Walsh is tall but skinny, so until he fills out his frame I wouldn't say his body gives him an advantage as Kristo has blazing speed. Funny thing about Walsh is that while he has 7 pts in 5 games in 2 of those games he didnt get any points and in the 3 games he did record points all of them were 2 or more. I know Dartmouth fans say he needs to be more consistent, we'll see how the rest of the season goes for him.

Playing 4 years NCAA should help him fill out to 205-210lbs, he is one of those guys you draft late like MacMillan and let him develop and fill out his body for 3-4 years rather than jumping in the AHL at 20.

You think Walsh is going to gain 15-20 lbs by next year? Seems a bit much to me.
