Yeah, it really didn't sound positive the way MacLean spoke about Regin not going with surgery either.

No, he was skating with the puck. I saw some video a week ago and he was shooting at the net, even did a nice backhand. He's not allowed to practice yet though.

Great news. If Regin can be as effective as he was in the early going this season and sat in the line-up this is going to just great for the team.

He is confident it would be back in the lineup mid-december.

I'll set the over/under on games played before he re-injures his shoulder at 7.

Seven is an awfully high number...

Does he return to the lineup by New Years?
You would have to think so, no?

I hope he's actually good to go and not jumping the gun only to get a much worse injury soon. He could be a key part for us going forward on that second or third line.

7? No way he makes it that far. I think his career is in jeopardy.
i give it his first game back. On his first slapshot his arm ends up in Section 114, Row E, Seat 11.

114? No way, that's center ice.
The trajectory would probably take his arm near the corners... 117, Row H, seat 10.

This is it for Peter Regin. He needs to stay healthy and produce going forward or I'd say his time in the NHL is most likely done.
I think Regin knows this and while he obviously wants to be back sooner rather than later, he must know (or his agent told him, or at least should have) that he can't afford another long stint on IR. Hopefully that translates into him taking the time needed to make sure he stays on the ice!

You can keep the puck. You will have to give the arm back. They don't let you keep body parts anymore.

Filatov/Butler-Spezza-Michalek
Foligno-Regin-Alfredsson
Greening-Smith-Condra
Daugavins-Winchester-Neil
Konopka
Filatov vs Butler for a spot on Left Wing. Let them battle it out, the first who runs with it (well, at least for this year). If they can't do it, Da Costa and Petersson should get a try out at some point (why not try Da Costa on the Wing?)

Yeah, not since the Hossa high-stick on Bryan Berard.
... what, too soon?

Da Costa has been money at centre: until Regin out plays him (which may never happen) there's no reason for him to take him out of position. He still needs to get accustomed to playing an 82 game season that is far more intensive than anything he's ever known.

I hope he plays.
Maybe he should play on defense.
