I simply hope that you were writing down part of your prayer and not using the lord's name in vain, because that would be disgusting.

Not to try and be offensive or anything but more as a warning. You'll come to find that a lot fo people around here are a bit more lax about using those words (sorry, not religious, I feel it would be sort of wrong to wrote it otherwise, kind of like lying). I'm sure the majority of us here will be willing to tighten up our use of such terms if it offends you however you will likely come across a few people who will end up posting that without even thinking about it. I know I myself sometimes do, just because I've been brought up around the phrase without people giving it a second thought, but if it offends you, I'll do my best to keep my keyboard in check.

No, that is ok guys. I appreciate the gesture, however I have realized that it is me who will have to accept it. I cannot push my beliefs on other people, so it was pointless of me to say.

My apologies for that, and carry on and say whatever you want haha...stupid me!

Yeah you're right, you can't force your beliefs on people on this board and it was really pointless on your part.

They should have continued the game.

Why didn't the show get cancelled when Brett Hart's brother was killed in the wrestling event?

Clint Malarchuk?

Borje Salming?

I can appreciate that they cancelled the event but don't understand it.

What if this was the 7th game of the Stanley Cup finals?
Would they have continued?

I'll never understand this.

Why would you NOT stop the event? The wrestling thing seems like a dumb decision to me...a major accident and "the show must go on."

In fairness, Malarchuk left under his own power. Salming, I'm not even familiar with what happened. But Fischer was clinically dead at the scene of this game; they had to use a defibrillator to revive him. I'd be pretty incapacitated after seeing that. Stopping this (fairly meaningless) game after only playing seven and a half minutes is more than logical.

As for if it were a game seven, who knows? It's a good thing it wasn't.

There is no possible way they could have continued. Could you have continued to play hockey knowing that one of your good friends and team mates could very well be dead? It wouldn't be fair to the Predators and Wings to continue that game, and I'm sure they wouldn't have wanted to continue if they could.

I felt sick to my stomach just watching and hearing about it on NHL on the Fly last night. Jiri is a young man and has his whole life ahead of him, lets hope that he will be alright and back on his feet soon.

I watched this game live last night. I was in total shock when I seen the CPR being performed. At first I didn't know if it was even a player, I thought it was a fan who fell over the railling or something. That was the scariest thing I had seen live in a hockey game since Clint Marurchuck had a skate cut his juglar vaine. I hope Fisher gets well soon. One thing I thought was sad was the odd fan who booed when it was anounced that the game was canceled.

Some people are just *******s....

maybe i'm a little bit more sensitive to the situation, since my uncle died of heart failure playing hockey. He also fell over on the bench and stopped breathing...

to think some people are booing and others want the game to continue is LUDACRIS!!!

I can't take you seriously so I've no desire to respond to your request, which I think is out of line, presumptuous, and egocentric anyway. Since in the past you have chosen to produce fake posts about yourself (for your own amusement) how are we to know whether or not this one is serious or simply another attempt to goof on us?

You have a good understanding of hockey and you write extremely well but when you talk about yourself you behave like a contemptuous fool who is the only one that is in on the joke.

Religious people have no higher place on this board than atheists or agnostics. That is, if you are really a religious person. Taking you at face value is a fool's game and you have already fooled me once so what you say about yourself doesn't count for anything and can be fairly ignored.

it is horrifying to see any person in such distress and we can all hope that Fischer will be able to lead a normal and lengthy life before we worry about whether or not he will play hockey again.

The medical staff on hand saved his life and did their job extremely well.

Take it easy and don't hurry back, Jiri.
