Amerks thump Crunch 5-2

Thorburn, Pominville and Mancari (yeah!) with one each, Novotny and Cullen each with a goal and an assist, Paetsch with two assists in the win. Leighton got the win. More on the goaltending here from today's D&C. Also an article on Thorburn from the other day, a second one on Thorburn, as well as one on Novotny.

Edit: Game Recap

Startlingly, they scored three at even strength. Also nice to see Paetsch had six shots -- it seems like its time for him to get a taste when next they have a recall situation....

Lindy mentioned him as a candidate when they recalled Janik last weekend.

I do give credit when credit is due. Novotny is playing very well this year. Ever since Roy and Taylor left, he has stepped it up and basically is the number 1 center. He still tries to do way too much with the puck and turns it over too much, but this is better than I've ever seen him play. Of course, it is a contract year, so that probably has some influence.

Hey guys.

Just a quick question, how does meyer and Kreps look this year. I heard PominVille suggest that Kreps should be in the nhl this year, just wondering .

I like them both. Kreps has good size and is a good skater. He doesn't shy away from contact either. But he's definitely not ready for the NHL, but with all the injuries to Florida he's most likely the next call up.

Meyer came up from the ECHL and has made his mark. He skates hard and is a great hitter. His offensive game has been decent, but he's at his best when he's forchecking hard and agitating the opposition.

Thanks man XD.

I dont want either of them to be called up, rather have them develop at their own pace.
One more question, or two http://www.hfboards.com/images/smilies/winky.gif.
When do you think they will be ready for the nhl?
Who has the higher upsides Meyer or Kreps, as ive never seen them, i just go on reports.

Leighton was pretty solid in this game.
I assumed they would start Pelts Friday (home) and Leighton Saturday (road) but I was wrong.
The Bartovic for Leighton looks better and better as i watch each game.

I think I recall Leighton being pegged as the goalie of the future for the Hawks a couple seasons ago...Bartovic's potential was never greater than an agitator with stone cold hands for the 4th line.
