[QUOTE=s4ghost;39843935]Give him a pass, you must be drinking already, if they gave him a pass, then that opens up the flood gates.
Your right. I must be pretty piss drunk if I want players who actually bother to show up on the ice to be in the lineup. I must be an idiot for not wanting to see guys like Semin who are completely apathetic to take the spot of a guy who works hard.
I think a fine or a warning would have worked in this instance and at the same time you don't hurt the team on the ice for the game tonight. I don't think it is that slippery of a slope as many of you may think.

Having different levels of accountability for different players is a stupid thing to do, IMO.
If a player misses a team meeting and is unexcused, he's scratched. Shouldn't matter who he is.
It might be a bit heavy handed in terms of punishment fitting the crime, but that's really only an issue if the players take it as one (and Ward seems to be taking it the right way if his comments are to be believed).
Plus the overall message should be more important than the potential impact on-ice for one game. Even if he thinks the team is better with Ward tonight than without him, it might be worth it if he thinks the message needs to be sent loud and clear.
I'm assuming this isn't coming out of nowhere but who knows.

Hey WSH fans, good luck. So Orlov is going to play, that's awesome looking forward to him playing I think he is a great prospect. Any word on WSH lines for tonight?
