If I was SportsNet and the Oilers, I'll be peeved.

A Friday 2 pm game would lower the viewership ratings, thus less advertising revenue. It doesn't even make sense from Minnesota's point of view. More people would eat and drink if the game started at their regular 7 pm (Minnesota time) start.

The Oilers opening game of the season was on Thanksgiving Sunday and it was a 6 pm start. The bars were packed (I was at The Pint) that night. I doubt it would of been packed if the Oilers/Pens game was a 2 pm start.

Plus it is Black Friday in the USA so people would rather trample each other at the big box stores than watch an afternoon hockey game. I don't see the logic for the afternoon start time in Minny.

It's great. Will be 10 o'clock in the evening in Germany.
So I can follow it perhaps.

Well isn't the Minny rink right next to Mall of the Americas? I guess if you live in Minny you can do both on Friday!

What? Shop and watch the Wild trample the Oilers?

Maybe they are banking on men dropping off their wives to do the shopping while they hit a pub to watch the game. "See you in 2.5 hours honey. Have fun shopping"

Was it Avenue Pizza?

Don't mind the afternoon game. Considering it's another back-to-back I'm sure the Oilers are happy then can get into Colorado at a descent time and not be exhausted for the second game.

Finally a game that's not in the middle of the night, but then of course there are two other games on at the same time, which means this one's not on tv...

This. So much this.

One of the only games of the year that won't be at 3 or 4 am local time? On a Friday night? After a long, hectic week at work? HELLS INDEED.

It's not our fault you decided to become an Oiler fan and live in Europe.

It's days like thursday and friday that make having a 50" lcd tv and satellite at work worthwhile.

I'll be done school at 11 and I am pretty happy about the start time to be perfectly honest. Maybe an afternoon time will work in the Oilers favor and they'll actually be able to win in Minnesota. 4 pts of a possible 6 in the first 3 meetings is a victory in my opinion.
