There are twice (probably 5x really) as many Red Sox fans than Toronto in Montreal. We've farmed the team for years, a lot of our favorite players went on to play for them. It's also the closest geographical team. That, and the fact that many people would take for any team than a Toronto team!
TVA Sport were really stupid when they got Blue Jays games, they don't get the demographics.
well AA said that he is not interested in going after any big name, HUGE contract, long term signings through FA. He said he prefers to use his assets and make trades (just like what he did to get a legit closer this past week)

Fielder is not worth that amount of money. But, the Tigers will now have Fielder, Miguel Cabrera and V Mart in the middle of their batting order. That is scary.

Except V Mart is out for the year. Next year is where the trouble happens. Only one can play 1B and one can DH. Miggy has to relearn 3B all over again if they keep him. Early returns say V Mart gets moved next year.
Still don't know how I'd feel about the Expos coming back. I was a diehard Expos fans– the Habs are just my replacement team. If a team moved here it wouldn't feel the same, if Washington came back I'td feel like the team was "Tarnished" and if for some reason we received an expansion team, I wouldn't be as excited.
That being said, there's a hole in my heart where the baseball in Montreal belongs! I would rather try and accept a new team than never have a team again.
Really sucks the team never moved to Brooklyn. That's the only way I would still love them. Washington sucks.
