My overall assumption of the Nashville situation is that you guys will likely lose Ryan Suter (to Detroit) this summer and retain Shea Weber long term.
I have a three way trade proposal to offer:
Nashville gets: Kyle Turris
Phoenix gets: Cory Schneider
Vancouver gets: Patric Hornqvist
Nashville gets a potential first line center, Phoenix gets a long term solution in net, and Vancouver gets some goal scoring immediately.

So we trade a player who has a good locker room presence and has 30 and 20 GOAL seasons, who has good chemistry with our top young guys, for a supposed cancer who hasn't hit 30 POINTS yet? WAY too big of a risk.
We've got what it takes to sign both Weber AND Suter, but what does that have to do with this proposal anyhow? Vancouver can have Turris, and Phoenix can get Schneider, if Vancouver is willing to give him up for Turris, Preds won't want anything to do with this one.

Will lose Suter??? Say what???
His agent was in Nashville recently talking to Polie.
I don't think they're were discussing country music...

Suter likes country music, so it's possible
And no. This is a terrible deal for Nashville. Suter is staying. I know fans across the league are outraged because Nashville's defense is going to be insane for years to come, but Weber and Suter are staying. Not only that, but offense is here now.
By the way, I do like the title of this thread. I'm not sure who did it, but we have needed an "all inclusive" zone for trade talk.

Wait so because we are going to lose Suter we need to trade Hornqvist? Your logic makes no sense.
Plus suter ain't going nowhere. We have plenty o cash for him and weber and (I guess?) scoring help.

how about as a counter:
nashville gets: kesler, sedin, sedin, doan
Phoenix gets: mcgratton
Vancouver gets: bergfors
nashville takes care off all its offensive need, phoenix gets a guy that can keep biznasty company, and vancouver gets a soft euro.
Just in time for the holidays, I bring you.....Eklund Rumors! Ho ho ho!
If you don't like Ek, that's fine. Dont just say "it's Ek, who cares." If you don't care, don't comment.

QUICK-HIT RUMOR: With Pekka Rinne now firmly entrenched as the Predators starting goalie for years to come and with Jeremy Smith looking more and more NHL ready, there has been a lot of interest from NHL teams in both Anders Lindback and Smith.
According to one NHL scout, "a lot of teams would like to get their hands on Lindback or Smith, but the Preds aren't about to just give either one away."
Even so at least three teams -- one of which allegedly is the New Jersey Devils -- have been persistent in gauging the Preds' willingness to part with one of their good young goalies. One would assume that Nashville will be looking to add a little proven scoring punch up front in exchange.
Makes some sense. We've been speculating that since the contract.
I was thinking about that recently. Brodeur obviously isn't getting any younger, and I doubt Lindback wants to be behind Rinne playing 15 games for the next seven years. It makes sense, what can NJ offer that'll be interesting?

I doubt they move Josefson. Maybe Tedenby? He's been dropped to the bottom 6 for most of the season, but has a lot of talent. We might have to add though.

we just waived a small, talented swedish wing that doen't play defense. why do it again so soon?
a guy like tallinder wouldn't be bad. would cost us 3.4 mil a year or somewhere around there. he might help the second pair a bit. we could send lindback and laakso to them for talinder and hedberg.
An extra $3.4m per year shouldn't be a big deal as long as the owners are serious about spending. The team can fit that in along with Suter and Weber, plus give raises to Wilson, SK, and Blum (provided the latter two earn them), and still find a forward in the $4m range even if the cap doesn't increase. If the cap does increase, add the increase to the $4m figure (if history is any indication, that would increase to $6-$7m), and there would still be room for call ups.
Shea Weber will likely vouch for Blake Comeau. The latter being on waivers may be another one of those "opportunistic" pick ups by Poile. He has been saying since the summer, that that is what he has been on the look out for, a la the Mike Fisher acquisition. The timing of Bergfor's release maybe more than coincidence.

maybe they were working on a trade & couldn't figure out the extra compensation ???? ... *shrugs*
we already have one failed isles player. losing breeds losing.
Haha Hillen. I recall Poile took the cheap route there signing him instead of Hannan. That makes two available players who also happen to be two of Shea's Kelowna buddies that Poile has been unable to snag.

Too late, Calgary claimed him.

Ultimately, I think the problem here is actually defense and line juggling rather than offense. When we were runnning the young guns line of Wilson Smith and Hornqvist they looked fantastic. Legwand comes back and we split them apart. Put them back together ASAP. This takes some of the pressure off the FEK line as well as forces opponents to shut down one of the two. Put legwand on the third line. Tough luck but that is the way things are.
Kevin Klein or Hillen needs to be upgraded and soon. Our defense is not good enough right now. I strongly suggest Poile put his mancrush on Klein aside and flip him and a pick for a better defenseman.
