Rinaldo and Zolnierczyk playing too good for him to get his place back?

Can one of them play center, btw? I know that I've seen Rinaldo listed as a center somewhere, but I don't know if he's ever actually played it. Zolnierczyk-Rinaldo-Nödl would probably not see many minutes as a line, but I'd rather have Couturier up in the top 9 than Nödl. Maybe Zolnierczyk moves up, he has the speed to cope at least (god damn, he's fast).
I think he is healthy but other guys like Harry Z are simply playing better.

I'd move Couturier up to wing on Giroux's line, keeping all the other lines the same. Call up Holmstrom for a game.

Couturier-Giroux-Hartnell
JVR-Briere-Simmonds
Read-Talbot-Voracek
Rinaldo-Holmstrom-Zolnierczyk

I know Couts really isnt a winger, but I feel that he deserves a chance to play on a better line. The 4th line hasnt been bad, but I dont think they match Couturier's skill level.

Trust me man, I feel your pain. Tomorrow will be only the third game I've seen the Flyers play in person. The first, Lindros missed with an injury. And this one Jagr's out. UNREAL!!!!

Life sucks sometimes.

Nodl is apparently good to go so no need for a call up.

Eh, the idea was to not change the top 9all around AGAIN. Last time it happened we lost the next few games. Right now we are winning with these lines and changing them up is a bad idea. Rinaldo/HarryZ/Nodl dont play center so...

Lets say you move Voracek up to the 1st line with Giroux, a Read-Talbot-Nodl line will not work...at all. Well they might be solid defensively but dont expect the points they have been putting up the past few games (with Voracek. They have been out hottest line. Voracek finally looks comfortable with Talbot and Read. He looked terrible next to Briere. Maybe he is fine next to Giroux.

Jagr will not play Monday (today) and is day-to-day.

Some Twitter comments from Randy Miller (Courier Post):
  • Jagr hurt himself losing edge on skate in the second of his 3 shifts last Thursday.
  • "The pain is not there. that’s a good sign. I have to build up the strength. All I need is one practice for a game reaction. "
  • Jagr used acupuncture to take away pain in his groin. Now he wants to test it one more time in a hard practice before playing
  • Jagr on playing it safe with groin and resting tonight: "I don’t want to miss any more than 1 or 2. "

"Jagr used acupuncture to take away pain in his groin"

This statement is counter-intuitive. Normally, jamming needles in your groin is a source of pain, not the cure.

Good decision. Groin needs to be healed if he is going to be effective anyway!

Are there any new updates on Jagr? Going to the game Saturday and hope he makes his return to MSG then since I can't go to the game in December.

Left game in second period... all bets are off going forward... probably will be playing safe I'd think and go slow bringing him back in future, or maybe he made it worse and we are looking at a longer time off. In any event, don't count on him for Saturday a MSG.

... Of course all the above after his leaving game in second period is merely my take... so who knows?

This is where being 39 can bite a player in the ass.

yea, I can tell when he isn't playing the past few games. No one is standing in front of the net - waiting for redirects and stray pucks. They keep passing the puck to someone who isn't there...

UPDATE: Jagr is out the next two games. He might be ready at Anaheim (Dec. 2). A few days off for the team in between games.
