question... Why our best players are not on the first Power Play... It should be

Pacioretty Plekanec Cammalleri
Weber Subban

Second wave
Cole Desharnais Gionta
Weber Subban

When Desharnais is not in his game change him with Eller...

Our power play doesn't work right now I just don,t understand why our best offensive players are not in it.

He was brutal on the 4 min power, absolutley brutal and had some awful passes that were usually behind the player or directly on the opposing team stick. Twice he overhandled the puck at the blue that led to a chance the other way.

Its amazing to me that that with a 2 mil budget Gauthier was able to sign an NHL 2nd pairing. Emelin-Diaz are ridiculously surprising for 2 players who have just started their NHL careers. Both players pitch in offensively, no protect each other in defensive coverage and both play it rough drfensivley (especially Emelin).

I don't know what's up with Staal, but Skinner was buzzing again all game long.

During OT, Staal was skating up into the Habs zone on a 1-on-1 against Diaz and I thought it may lead to a dangerous scoring chance...but our Swiss defenseman simply poked checked the puck away from Staal. It seemed pretty indicative of Staal's game tonight. Hell, he wasn't even used on the shootout.

What is crazy is how fast they've adjusted. That doesn't mean they have nothing left to improve, but man they've learned fast. I said the same thing you just said to my father during the game. He picked up some quality players for peanuts..

Patches, Cammy & Gomez did not have good games. Yeah, I know Cammy scored.

Emelin is really coming into his own. And will someone dress themselves up as Martin for the next game and play effing Eller more than Gomez. I'm really starting to lose respect for this man.

And maybe we should call St Denis back. He played very well the time he was here and Gill was just putrid.

But we won - against the Canes.

diaz has really shocked me

it's good for them though this will help them as players and to watch them grow in the coming years it will be great to watch

Subban would likely play as a 1B if Markov returns...

Eller looks great as soon as he's moved back at center, surprise surprise. This kid has no business on the wings.

I'd imagine that Gomez would he a better and more useful player in Ellers wing than vice versa.

I don't want to hate on the guy, but right now?

He's at his best eating chicken wings.

And tonight's game can be summed as such: "Bing!"

Didn't get to see the game tonight (I was out playing some hockey of my own), but it's great to hear that Eller played well at his natural center position, and that Emelin continues to develop nicely. It's been said a few times before, but it would really be the best case scenario if he develops well enough to be able to handle being Markov's partner on the first pairing once everyone is back healthy.

Also, interesting to hear that most people think Gionta had a good game - despite the fact that he was minus 3 on the night. Just goes to show that the stat sheet can be very misleading, especially the +/- stat.

Gionta was a -3... But by the end of the 2nd period and the whole 3rd period, everyone stepped it up. It's almost as if we played 2 different games. Everyone was horrible at the start, and everyone got better by the end.

So Gomez is injured apparantly... I can't believe I'm saying this but hopefull he doesn't come back soon. Team is much better without him, sadly.

I don't criticize the coach often, in fact it's really rarely that I do it. But Eller on the wings is a thing I really don't like to see, because he isn't good at it.

On another note congratulation to Travis Moen for his 100th carreer pts !

per Weeks Cammy the deflecticon with a great tip and moen too. what happened to Moen in the off season?

Eller had a beast game Pk playing big and really playing a great 2 way game on the top pairing with Gorges. The hole defence is playing good, man Emelin is starting to scare opposing forwards entering our zone LOL he hits anyone stupid enough to try and squeeze by him on the boards. I am very happy with his progress. Diaz is really making himself into a real asset. Weber is also progressing wonderfully.

Gotta say the Defence injuries may in the long run be a blessing in desguise come playoff time. The youngsters got game.

Max pac with Cole really crash and bang out there and create things. I think they really compliment each other out there.

DD has completely made Gomez an unmoveable asset that is again injured.

JM has actually played some good lines and is errrgggg doing an alright job. there i said it. he better not revert to his idiotic line making old self.

I think the injuries have forced his hand on this issue so we will see once the bodies return
