My first game wasn jan 11 2000 against the wings. I got lucky cause we shut them out 3-0 with our horrible lineup.

1975 Detroit and Chicago the game was my first that I truly remember I had been to the Forum many times prior to that mostly when I was 4 years old and younger. I remember the Wings beat the HAWKS at that game.

I remember it was a few years ago vs the flames... Theodore was the goalie and I remember Bulis scoring. We won 3-2.

The one good thing about that evening is that me & friend spotted Boom Boom Geoffrion about a section away from us (best seats I've ever had, I usually sit in the nosebleeds). We went up to him and chatted for a few minutes. He even signed the back of my ticket. I still have it today, but it's kinda weird considering what this evening now signifies...**** Tremblay, Houle & Corey!!

It was a Leafs-Sens pre-season game last year. Leafs lost 5-0, but I still had a lot of fun sitting in complete awe of the skill level of the players in person.

MY first NHL game was the Flames-Flyers, about 12 years ago, in one of those games that contributed to the premature end of Lindros' career. My first Habs game was a couple of years ago here in Calgary, when the Halak got the start so Price could play against Van, and the Habs lost 4-3. Still haven't seen the Habs win a game live, they lost 6-2 the following year, and then the poopshow that was the winter classic last year. I think I'm going to stop going to the games when they're here in calgary, since I just end up pissed off and in a fight by the end of the night anyways.

Awesome thread. It was in 2000 or 01. Don't remember the team LOL Koivu had this amazing goal and the building exploded. I still get goosebumps thinking about the atmosphere for the 5 minutes after the goal. That was when I fell in love with the Habs and hockey in general.

Yes it was prior to winning the cup (93) sometime in the late 80s early 90s.

I'd say it was around 89-91. I was 4-6 years old and I had the privilege of seeing a Hartford whalers game. I don't have the best memory of it in the world but I remember we lost and I think I cried LOL.

Gotta love hockey.

My first NHL game

My dad took me in 1983 to watch a game in the old Winnipeg Arena, the Jets played the L.A. Kings in their ugly yellow and purple uniforms. Marcel Dionne was a great player to watch and we lost that game. It was a humbling feeling to sit among 16-17,000 screaming fans. During playoff time it actually got more loud.

I've never attended an NHL game. Something on my to do list for sure, need to maybe take an exchange period in Montreal and spend all my money on hockey and booze.

The first NHL game I saw on television was the 2001 finals, game 6, NJD vs. COL.

Whalers vs Nordiques at the Colisée.

First Habs game: http://www.hockey-reference.com/boxs...003060LAK.html

Gionta scored 22 seconds in and I made my HNIC debut on the replay of the goal. Haha! Since then I went to the Anahiem game the next day, and 3 games at the Bell Centre the next year. Been a fan since 1998-ish, have had cash since 2010.

For me, it was in March of 1993 against the Sens at the Forum. The Habs ended up winning 4-3 in OT. Out of curiosity, I searched to see if I could find old box scores from that season... and sure enough...

http://www.hockey-reference.com/boxs...303270MTL.html

If you look around on the website, you could find every game for the past... no idea how many years, but a lot! haha
Is there a typo in the link, or did Damphousse actually take 14 shots that game? if not thats ridiculous.

It was my birthday present from my dad. He was a Lightning fan so we both wore our team's jerseys and enjoyed the game. Sadly this and a game against Calgary a few years later were the only games I attended and the Canadiens actually won.

I was a huge Koivu fan at this age and I hated Zamuner.

EDIT: And thanks for the website, Mike. Awesome find.

Another old guy!

My first game was, I think, in 1969 against the Blackhawks. I don't know the date or score, but I remember the amazingly bright colours of the jerseys (TV's were black & white) and all the familiar faces coming to life (no helmets on the players). Beliveau's tall stature and dark hair, Bobby Hull's blondish hair and missing teeth, Stan Mikita's scowl, Gump Worsely's mug and crew cut... man it was cool! Brown leather skates, stark white boards without advertising, the blue-grey scoreboard hanging from the center, the almost flourescent whiteness of the ice as it became textured with skate cuts as the game went on; the live organ pumping out chords between the swelling roar of the crowd. Out in the corridors between periods, being engulfed by cigarette smoke and the overpowering aroma of beer.

Part of it was magical because I was 7; part was because these heroes I'd seen in grainy monotone on our TV were here in front of me; and part was because I was surrounded by 20 thousand people who sounded like one huge crazy voice of enthusiasm.

First game was back in december 2002. Was in the Red's and was a typical immigrant newb to the game; my GF at the time basically introduced me to habs fever. Which i still have to this day Memory faulting me on this one for some reason. i remember most other games i've been too (20+). It was something watching these players that close, really impressed me alot.
