We finally get to see what Hagelin can do in the NHL. Its good that they didn't call up Zucc, save his call up for when there is a top 6/9 spot available
If you gave Richards the ice time that Zucc got in that short amount of games, Richards might look invisible too.
Tortorella has some good ideas and some bad ones. Making Boyle and Fedotenko centre pieces in this team is ****in stupid. This is the same Fedotenko that was dropped by Pittsburgh. Not saying he can't have a role, but Tortorella makes his role primary...
don't you think, in any way, that mza was part of the reason the team looked so bad? our problem through the first 5-6 games of the season was that there was no forecheck and a lack of size. remember that the team got bigger (deveaux, avery) and instantly became a much better team? don't forget that even though the rangers just lost 2 games in a row, before that they won 7 straight.
our early season problems were caused by players like wolski and mza who don't take the body or contribute anything on defense. why would you want guys like that anywhere near this team?

Because we have tons of 4th liners who don't do anything very well EXCEPT lay the body and PK.
I want a third line that can actually be a threat offensively. Hagelin and MZA do that. Boyle and Prust don't.
Also, I don't think Deveaux or any other "bigger badder" guys contributed much to our success. It was Gaborik, Callahan, Stepan, Anisimov and Richards- our skillful players. They've gone cold over the last few games, and where are we now?
Just a reminder, despite all the pointing out of statistics in regards to Zuccarello, he looked invisible for most of last season too. Almost 40% of his points came in 4 games, or 10% of his season. Remember how we always said that Gaborik's goal total last year was deceiving? Well, so was Zuccarello's point total. It points to situational success, which isn't at all the same as being able to play in the league.

Im sorry, but this just sounds beyond stupid now
Since i am Norwegian, i have stayed away from MZA discussions on purpose (after all, i am biased, so instead of getting that thrown in my face, i've kept my mouth shut).
If your arguement is that 2 guys getting 5 - 10 minutes a night (Deveux normally gets less than 5, Avery less than 10) on a team of 20 people makes the difference, i plain and simply give up.
Blaming Zuke for the entire team looking bad is also quite...impressive
Newsflash for you.. the "core" of the Rangers is unchanged, since day 1 its basically been the same players out there for the vast majority of the time (Cally, Dubi, AA, Gabby, Richards, etc etc). If the team collectively sucked, you dont really need to look further than to these guys.

I dont think you can really say those guys suck on account they are the only offensive threats we've had this season. that whole 7 in a row deal yeah they had a big part in that,(along with team defense) but if your just looking to pick a fight because some one doesn't like zucc go else where he won't make it on the rangers top 6 because we already have a top 6

arty-step-gabby
dubi-richy-cally
We have two 2 lines if no ones noticed!
Im not saying that they suck, nor have i said anything about Zuke (other than that you cant blame him for a team not deciding to show up). And most of all, i've certainly not lobbied for him to get into the top 6 of the Rangers, where did you take that from ?
What i said was that the core of the Rangers has been intact since the season started. Is my English so bad that people cannot comprehend what im saying ?
#1 in power play points per minute last season
#3 in overall points per minute last season
#5 in points per game last season
Yeah he really showed he was not good enough, lol.
I must say, those stats are very compelling. In points per minute on the ice, MZA outscored Dubinsky, the team leader in overall points last season. One day, we'll regret not bringing him up correctly.
Regardless of what we do the rest of the way, I doubt he'll want to resign with us unless we qualify him as an RFA.
Been asking for Hagelin to get called up the past couple of days.
He's producing at the AHL level.
Im hoping he makes an immediate impact and sticks.
Me and you both, but if he doesn't, if he's here only to get a feel for what he has to do to stick around next time, then it's not cause for this whole board to abuse him as a non-prospect.
This is his first cup of tea. He's expected to go down. He's expected to make mistakes and to do nothing except be fast. Anything more than that should be a pleasant surprise, not an expectation.
