2010 -- November 16 -- Carey Price made 41 saves in Montreal's 3-0 win at home. The shot total represented the most in a shutout against the Flyers since Clint Malarchuk had 42 in 1989. Michael Cammalleri gave the Canadiens a 1-0 lead with a first period 5-on-3 PPG. Tomas Plekanec made it 2-0 in the second period 38 seconds after the Flyers failed on a PP which included a brief 5-on-3. The Flyers' PP was 0-for-6 while Montreal was 2-for-8. 2010 -- November 22 -- James van Riemsdyk's first goal of the season snapped a 2-2 tie 7:42 into the third period and Brian Boucher made 29 saves leading Philly to a 3-2 home win. The Flyers were 31-for-42 (73.8 percent) on faceoffs in the second and third periods and outshot the Canadiens 36-16 over those 40 minutes. Philly held a 45-31 shots advantage in the game. Claude Giroux tied the game 2-2 1:48 into the third period. Ville Leino scored the Flyers' first goal with 5:07 left in the second period. Maxim Lapierre scored twice in the opening period, with Benoit Pouliot and Jeff Halpern assisting on both, to give Montreal a 2-0 lead. 2010 -- December 15 -- Sergei Bobrovsky made 38 saves, James van Riemsdyk scored twice and Jeff Carter (1-2-3) had three points in the Flyers' impressive 5-3 win at Montreal. The victory came on the back end of a home win against Pittsburgh which elevated the Flyers to the top spot in the NHL. JVR's (2-0-2) PPG was the game-winner with 5:33 to play and Claude Giroux followed 61 seconds later. The Flyers' 3-1 lead was equalled midway in the third period on goals by Tomas Plekanec, who was in the box during the GWG, and Brian Gionta. Montreal held a 41-30 shots advantage. 2011 -- January 25 -- Chris Pronger (0-4-4) tied a career-high with four assists and Sergei Bobrovsky made 29 saves in the Flyers' 5-2 win, the team's 1,000th regular season victory on home ice. Jeff Carter, Kimmo Timonen and Dan Carcillo gave Philly a 3-0 with goals scored in 2:41 including the first two 63 seconds apart which came on PPs late in the first period. The Flyers' PP went 3-for-5 and the PK was a perfect 7-for-7. Philly had 31 blocks to Montreal's 8. Carey Price made 30 saves. The Flyers finished January with a 10-2-0 record. FLYERS-CANADIENS' 2011-12 SERIES:
2011 -- October 26 -- Max Pacioretty (2-1-3) had three points and Carey Price made 21 saves for his 100th win in Montreal's 5-1 victory which ended a six-game losing streak. Yannick Weber scored with 2.6 seconds remaining in the opening period to even the game 1-1 ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V7eEA5vj2a4 ). Andrei Kostitsyn's reviewed goal midway through regulation gave Montreal the lead for good. The Canadiens entered the game with their worst home start in team history 0-3-2 and fired assistant coach Perry Pearn prior to the game (the next month, he accepted a role as a scout with the team).
2011 -- November 25 -- Claude Giroux (2-0-2) was the game's top star and scored twice and Sergei Bobrovsky made 23 saves in the Flyers' 3-1 home win on Black Friday. The Flyers out-scored Montreal 3-0 in the second period and held an 18-5 shots advantage (36-24 in the game). Montreal led 1-0 until Giroux scored with 6:49 left to play in the second period. The Flyers' PK unit was successful killing a minor issued with 4:33 to play in the middle period. Just 18 seconds later, the Flyers went ahead on a play started by sensational puck possession from Giroux in the offensive zone ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLkDRm18ke4 ) which led to a goal by Jake Voracek that gave Philly a 2-1 lead with 2:15 remaining in the second period. Giroux then tallied an important insurance goal with 5.9 to play before intermission. Montreal killed 1:41 of a 3-on-5 midway in the third period. Carey Price made 33 saves. The Flyers played without stars Chris Pronger, Jaromir Jagr and James van Riemsyk then lost defenseman Andreas Lilja for an estimated six weeks due to an ankle injury.
