Monarchs - Pirates (11/23/05)

Strange stuff so far...

The Monarchs had two 5-min major high sticking penalties within 30-seconds (Wilford then Giuliano) called against them with about 2:30 left in the first period. They gave up one goal...

Kip Brennan was awarded a penalty shot, SAVE Hauser...

The fight everyone was waiting for hasn't happened yet BUT, Noah Clarke just squared off against Aaron Gavey...

Game tied at 3 a piece after 2-periods:

1. MCH Pushkarev, (5) (Wilford, Seeley), 2:21 (PP)
1. POR Getzlaf, (1) (Perry, O'Brien), 18:57 (PP)
2. MCH Ryan, (3) (Petiot, Tambellini), 3:23
2. MCH Tambellini, (12) , 7:18
2. POR Brent, (7) (Pohanka, Ferguson), 8:22
2. POR Perry, (1) (Smid, Getzlaf), 19:10

2-pt night for Tambs already....

edit: Bruins leading the Leafs 4-0 half way through the second...

I see that Tambellini has scored his 2nd of the night, and 13th goal on the season. Impressive. Nice to see my expectations of him to lead the Monarchs in scoring and be their best player wasn't an exaggeration.

3 point night for Tambellini, but the Monarchs lose in a shootout.

Reggie watched the game on B2 and he said it was basically a lot of clutching and grabbing by both guys. I pointed out to him that that means is was a CLEAR WIN for Clarke...

anytime you rally in the 3rd and get a point its a good point. especially against a quality opponent like Portland who got even better before the game when they brought in Perry and Getzlaf earlier.
BIG weekend coming up. lets keep it rolling boys. hopefully they will take care of Hartford on friday to get it started.

BTW Happy Thanksgiving everyone. be safe, pig out, watch some football. repeat
