Don't know what a shinny toy is, but he played very well. Other players played better than him, but I wanted to give him the vote for an awesome debut. He's on pace for the best PPG on the team with Johnny Malkin.

But, nah, the post game thread is serious business.

When Arty's 30 years old he's going to talk just like him with a deeper voice.

If Hank wasn't a god in that first period, i don't think we win this game. Surprised to see his POTG numbers so low.

Fedo answered one question and his voice went up so high he sounded like Mickey Mouse.

Agreed. It could have easily been 2-0 or 3-0 after the first.

Hank, Cally, McDonagh

Hank: Amazing first, decent 2nd, solid 3rd. 1st period gets him into this

Cally: Rock solid all game, was hitting people, made some great passes on the 2 goals and played great overall

McDonagh: He's getting very underrated on these boards. Maybe it's not the right word, but that's what I feel. He's a stud in the making. He's logging 30 minutes most nights and he chips in offensively. He's on the PP, PK, and the top D pairing, all with less than 1 NHL season experience. He was great tonight. Nice turn on the Artie goal, solid defensively all game.

Good win. This is how we have to win games.
Voted the same way.

I thought our D played a very solid game. Girardi shouldn't have left his man for that first goal, but he was pissed. Sauer and Del Zotto were quietly good. Woywitka had a few nice plays and I thought Eminger actually had a really solid game. McDonagh made some amazing plays.

This team needed forward speed, and Hagelin brings that.

Effort was there, although the Caps committed awful defensive blunders.

there is this thing called technology... for example 15 minutes before gametime my phone alerts me. so today when i didnt realize it was a 4pm start, my phone went off in the supermarket and i was like "oh snap" and rushed home.... and apologies to the old woman i hipchekced in the checkout line ... no one should be allowed to use that many coupons in one transaction.

Hagelin looked sup;er comfortable out there. He's going to come in handy when the Rangers play trapping teams. He can esily beat defenders to dump ins with his speed. That what this team needs. Whats the pojnt of dumping in if you're too slow to put pressure on (Boyle, Feds, Prust etc)?

Just keep playing him. He's going to go through some rough patches. Just stick with him, Torts. Please.

LOL that's funny.

But there is also this thing called NHL.com that shows you when every game starts.

Missed the 3rd. But this was a much needed win. We needed to pot some goals again.

Hopefully this will jumpstart Boyle and Artie.

Finally getting a chance to hit the PGT, interwebz crashed

1)Feds
2)The Cap'n
3)The Don Girardi

Great win. Nice to see some effective offense for once. God bless Mother Russia.

A great win. Still, I don't think the Caps have their crap together, I don't think they will ever really be good at anything but the "We'll score more than you will" approach, the new way doesn't suit a suck-hole prima dona like Semin, ha ha ha.
I'm not taking away from the Rangers play, super happy about the movement and the jump and the zip.

That pass by Callahan to Richards and the goal should definitely be on the highlight reel tonight. Gorgeous touch, just perfect everything.

this game, and more particularly the final score, was a result of what the Caps did more than what the Rangers did. I saw some of the worst defensive hockey in my life done by the Caps in that game. just terrible, terrible decision making.
