was at the game. anyone remember the gabby shot on the pp (i think), later on in the 3rd. From my angle it looked like a sure goal, but they never reviewed it or showed a replay.

Saw parts of the game...mainly the 1st period. Henry looked super.

Notes: This was a Cap team that won 3 of the last 9 games before tonight.
Defense has not been the Caps strongest suit.

Despite that : The Rangers shots on goal was much improved.

How did the D play? I saw nothing neg in this thread yet I read Delury's note which said: "after a nice start to the season, Del Zotto is looking more and more like the player that was sent down to the Whale last season".

He then mentioned that, "..not sure how much longer the Rangers can go with Woywitka and Eminger as their third defensive pair. Eminger was especially brutal tonight. Erixon anyone"?

I'm usually in full agreement with Delury's analysis so I ask why the disconnect (no one pointed out anything neg re the D)

Tomorrow Philly... Lost 2 out of last 10 in regulation GA slightly over 2. My point ... Celebrate tonight but We'll see if some of the recent Ranger weaknesses start to show once again against philly?

Is there ever a time Ovie throws a hit and DOES NOT leave his feet?

Some awful turnovers by Caps. Absolutely dreadful. Nice to see boys take advantage of it.

Plenty of times, just Youtube it.

Voted Cally, Feds and Girardi.
HM to Hagelin for a strong debut and Lundqvist for holding the fort in the 1st.

Hagelin and Mitchel, both talented and fast, energized the 4th line, which carried the play to the Craps all afternoon. Can't say enough about 2 players. that stand out every game, especially yesterday, Captain Calli and Dan Girardi. When the Craps made it 3-2 Ovechkin was running everybody on the ice, until Del zotto smashed him behind the net and he turned back in to a pumpkin...Hank played great in the 1st period, even though I thought he gave up 2 bad goals, definitely the best game they have played thus far...LGR!!! Now kick the Flamers ass today!

shin·ny [shin-ee] noun

Shinny (also shinney) is an informal type of hockey played on ice or the street. There are no formal rules or specific positions, and generally, there are no goaltenders. The goal areas at each end may be marked by nets, or simply by objects, such as blocks of snow, stones, etc. Bodychecking and lifting or "roofing/reefing/raising the puck" (shooting the puck or ball so it rises above the ice) are often forbidden because the players are not wearing protective equipment. It may also be called pick-up hockey, pond hockey, street hockey, road hockey, or "outdoor puck". Shinny is a game that all levels of hockey enthusiasts can play because it requires no rink, requires no skills except ability to hold a stick and at the very least to try to touch the puck or ball when it goes by. Shinny may be completely non-competitive and recreational - scoring irrelevant - or competitive and scores kept.

I went Cally, Girardi - and then, because I couldn't decide between Arty, Stepan, Feds and a host of others for the last spot I gave it to Hagelin as recognition for a fantastic debut.

He has this habit of taking cheap shots at Lunqvist, either running him or purposely running a Ranger into him.

This was my favorite play ever by Colton Orr just after Ovechkin smashed into him and we all thought at the least Hank's season was over.

That's what the Rangers have to do every time Ovechkin does that.
