I don't think anyone is injured. I'd guess either Hillen, or less popularly, Blum--who I think could use a few games to get himself together.

Part of me wonders if this isn't a showcase type situation, as well.

Oh, now Roman Josi is the answer to the Preds' problems??? The next shiny new toy?

Another kid with a lot of that magic word potential, but with no NHL experience at all? I heard the same things about Ellis, Ekholm and Laakso, all of whom could not handle the defensive part of the NHL game, which we all know is the most important aspect in Trotz' evaluation of his defensemen.

Josi has been on the fast track to debut for a while. Maybe Hillen rests, but I do think Blum could benefit from a scratch.

Dude, Josi was supposed to be in our lineup out of camp but got injured. He is due this opportunity. And yes, defense is our problem. Scoring is NOT our problem right now, imo. Blum needs to sit for a game or two anyways. It's obvious the Preds think highly of Josi because he only played 5 games so far and is already being called up. Give him a chance.

Actually they need to give Hillen more minutes and sit Blum or Bouillon or Klein a bit. They also need to reduce Suter's and Weber's minutes. Those two guys looked terrible the last two games.

I also think they want to see what they have in Josi with the possible intent of sending Laakso to MKE for a while.

Pretty sure Laakso is subject to waivers. Not sure if he would have any takers...

If Laakso is waived that would still leave a space open.....for a forward.

You're trying to reason with someone that has a bizarre mancrush on Jack Hillen

I wouldn't be upset if Hillen did play a little more. So don't worry Jack, I'm in your corner, bro.

I'm hoping Josi can be Blum-esque. Give us 23 games of excellence, rook! No pressure, though. It isn't like this fan base is spoiled with great defensemen

Is this thread about Josi still?... Or is this Klien-Hillen thread?

I'm confused.

Didn't get to see much of the game last night so I'll ask, how did Josi look? Good positionally? Good with the puck? Smart? Stupid? Physical? Instincts?

As far as all the stats go, they don't matter right now since we're in a funk. The whole team is out of sync and no matter what stats we look at, the one that matters is wins, which we're not getting a whole of right now. Time to get back to working hard and playing Predators hockey. Stop being cute. Go to the net, forecheck hard and play a tight defensive game. Keep the puck to the outside and give up a lot of shots but shots that aren't dangerous. If we do that, we'll be winning some games soon. Time to get the Edmonton monkey off our back.

Also, time to find out if Josi can play or not.

It seemed like his minutes were protected, but I liked what I saw. He can definitely move the puck. I hope that he sees to it tha Bouillon never sees PP ice again.
