Looks like there may be an NBA labor deal, so time to start a new thread. Looking forward to having hoops back on Rangers' off days!
(Although I have to admit that my first thought on hearing about the proposed deal was to flashback and once again to be pissed at Dolan for ****ing up the Melo trade talks. We should still have at least Mozgov and one more first rounder - if not Gallo. Grrrr. MAN, do I hate Jimmy "I was born on third base and think I hit a homer, the team batted around and THEN I hit a triple" Dolan.)
This is great news, for the detractors, get the **** out of the thread then if it bothers you so much. The Knicks are looking very promising and it'll be great to see the Knicks and the Rangers with simultaneous playoff runs.
I still want to know where the cap is going to be at, hopefully its higher, but i doubt it. If it is theres a chance we can get CP3!!!
Just saw this under the winners/losers article on espn:
WINNERS: The Knicks
This is a deep-pocketed team looking to build a winner. The Knicks still need more players, and with a hard cap out of the picture, they continue to have some flexibility to keep spending if they have to.
Its weird, being a Knick fan, the lockout didn't really phase me. Basketball is my 4th sport behind the others, but I still watch most Knicks games every year. But now that its almost back, I am pumped.
Fun Fact: Last time there was a shortened season Knicks went to the finals. Lets hope we can get over the hump this year.

I am absolutely ecstatic to have basketball be back. The Garden always seems to be so much louder during Knicks games and I love those moments where the building erupts after something huge happens.
I don't see this issue with Ranger fans hating the Knicks. Sure it turns the attention to the Knicks, but let's face it even during the lockout the Rangers didn't get much attention. With that said we still have a passionate Ranger's base and we really don't need much attention. Knicks and Ranger fans shouldn't be against each other, they're all NY teams.
Looking forward to hopefully a good/healthy season for the Knicks and I look forward to seeing how they fill out the team both this free agency period and next offseason. (please find a way to bring back Crawford).

lets goooooo!!!!! our big three will be better than Miami's
Sooo apparently CP3 has just requested a trade to the Knicks!
Yeah just saw that. Nothing surprising lol.
Im a Knicks fan, but really losing interest in the NBA as a whole. These superstars forcing team's hands to play with their buddies is getting ridiculous. I know superteams always existed but they weren't formed like this. I thought the lockout was suppose to change this? I feel bad for team's fans like the Bucks, Hornets, Bobcats, etc. Really no hope and even if you strike gold in the draft that star will most likely bounce to NY, LA, etc. when their contract is up.

Great news about the lockout being over. Should be an interesting season with all the potential for big names moving around. Unfortunately, I'm resigned to the fact that the Knicks will weasel their way into Paul next season, but at least I can enjoy another season of watching Anthony prove to everyone that the only way he'll ever win anything in this league is if there are two better players on his team.
Looking forward to watching him uncover new, never before seen ways of making sure as few players on his team touch the ball as possible.
I think the Heat got this season, although the Lakers are going to bounce back with a stronger year, IMO. Bynum, Pao, and Odom are all going to play their assess off and hope none of them gets moved for Howard (a futile dream for 1 or 2 of 'em).
Well thats some of the teams fault, if your a team like that, you have to do a full tank for the draft, sort of like OKC, who wants to go there? They have a legit championship team.
We just don't have the assets to acquire CP3 at this time- we'll have to wait until free agency unless the Hornets take something like Shumpert, Fields, a couple of 1sts.

Which is why Dolan forcing his way into the Melo trade talks did so much damage. I am pretty happy NBA is back. Rangers are miles ahead in terms of how much I care and follow but I got into the Knicks and league a lot last year. They killed alot of momentum with the lockout, so let's see how the season goes.
