Completely awful game. It was easentially pointless to play, as the flyers might as well have just played a goaltender and no one else.

No puck pressure at all, literally none.
A complete inability to make any sort of plays outside the perimeter in the offensive zone besides forcing shots and plays that just weren't there.

The disheartening thing about this game is that the effort was there, they just simply could not do it.

I don't care how many injuries you have, that type of play is just terrible.

Jagr, JVR, Schenn, Pronger, Coburn, Nodl, Lilja, Read

All injured, or injured recently and you expect to have a solid performance. Are you kidding me?

the first 4 that are out would be likely to walk into any team in the league and contribute big minutes.

I agree with you ! Sometimes i wonder if i just watched the same game as some of these folks....Shots on goal were close, we had our chances etc. The Rags D did a nice job clearing the middle of loose pucks etc.Close checking game, Rangers won, that's hockey..Get healthy and move on .

hopefully pronger won't get the sniffles again next week.... and lavy, start playing you number one goalie please. i'm not going to deny that bob has been great but goalies are assigned roles for a reason, its going to kill us in the long run if bryz doesn't get to go through some ups and downs without getting pulled and benched. it can't help players stateof mind thinking he could have weeks worth of pine riding for a couple bad outings.

Its not the end of the world that they lost this game, however it does concern me that they have hardly beaten any of the actually good teams this season. Rangers and Capitals dominated the Flyers. Flyers lost also lost a close one to LA and were beaten pretty easily by St. Louis.

The only wins that really impress me are against Vancouver and Boston, early on though when both teams were sucking.

Rangers fan, as peacefully as possible. (I do still hate your team)

The second and 3rd period calmed down, but man did that first period have fireworks to it.

I haven't seen much of Simmons, is he typically an agitator? If so, he's very good at it; I wanted to pick a fight with him today.

any chance bryz may have a slight groin pull or something along those lines? it just seems strange to totally shelf a goaltender who has more wins than any other goalie over the past two years.

Some of that was likely a carryover from the preseason game. Simmons hasn't been the definition of a true agitator.

Laviolette was adamant with his comments prior to yesterday's game about rewarding Bobrovsky for the relief role against the Islanders. He also said it shouldn't be a surprise to see Bobrovsky start both games, an indicator that a strong game against Montreal would affect the decision. Bobrovsky's performance yesterday coupled with the game against the NYI was apparently the reasoning for being named the starter again today.

It's not just this game, tonight I could handle on it's own. I dunno, maybe i'm just tired but it's not very good most nights. God knows how we're winning games.

I think that it was a very entertaining game. We played a good game but I can see why you guys are very dangerous offensively.

I really look forward to playing you guys when both teams are completely healthy, it should really be an intense, playoff-like game.

I also look forward to hearing the audio from this game on 24/7

What a stupid comment. He has a virus, maybe he has fever, he can't play. Let him get healthy and he'll play. I don't want a confused and sleepy guy on the ice.

RT @davegisaac: Game story updated with quotes: (link) including Scott Hartnell talking about lavy dropkicking a garbage can 30 feet on Fri.

Looks like to win games, Lavy needs to attack inanimate objects.

Some fans are overreacting here. Flyers dressed 6 rookies and Shelley, not to mention that Nodl was injured 5 min into the game. I thought we held our own in this one but better team won. NY Rangers were better.

It was 2:0 but imo it was a good game by our boys considering injuries.

What if Hartnell scored on a breakaway in 1st?

Yes, but only if it was Marc-Andre Fleury that Boyle interfered with.

Against the Flyers, that is a 'good goal.'
