Sounds to me like Dawes is starting to get comfortable with AHL play. This is great news, because if he keeps it up, it shows that he can learn and adjust to tougher levels of hockey.

Also sounds like Thomas Pöck wants that call-up that has been rumoured in the press -- excellent.

In addition, is it just me, or, numbers-wise at least, has Lee Falardeau been playing well? For some reason I've always been pulling for him.

Finally, what is it with the Pack that they give up so many shots every game? Do they hate their goaltenders?

Albany goon Cam Janssen took a run at Jarkko Immonen and Ivan Baranka immediately jumped to the defense of Immonen by dropping the gloves with Janssen

Quote:
"And Ivan coming to Immonen's aid kind of sparked us. You don't like to see that in games sometimes, but it was good for us. It really helped get us back in the game emotionally. We were a little sleepy in the first period, then when the game got rough, it kind of woke us up. That's when we played our best hockey, capitalized on some power plays and started to get hungrier"

Jessiman a goal and 2 helpers and Holt 42 saves in a 5-2 win for Charlotte.

The problem with many of the nay sayers was

that many never even saw the kid play and offered up opinions. The kid could not have been on the Canadian WJC team if he stunk. The 1st year he led the WJC in scoring, though one would think that it was Parise. Fact is Dawes by virtue of more gaols was the leading scorer in the tournament and he was consistant in his scoring throughout the whole tournament. He just didn't have a couple of big scoring games.

Another fine scouting job by Sather's rebuilt development system. That's another part of the rebuild that the expert nay sayers never understood either.

will return to the NHL. That is the only explanation that makes sense as to why NJ has so many of those type of players in their system. With CAP problems you would think that they could have spent their money better on skilled players, or simply not signed so many goons.

Where did these prospects come from?

Anyone know? I mean NYRs doing well. who would have guessed that? HArtford playing well even after losing Moore, Hollweg, Tyutin, Kondratiev, Lundqvist, etc. All of these guys were boarderline prospects. How in the world is this happening. We need and demand an explanation. If our nay sayers can't come up with a plausibel expalnation then there is only one recourse!

FIRE SATHER! FIRE SATHER!

Right?

C'mon Atlanta, isn't your shtick getting a little old. No one on this board ever called Tyutin, Drats and some of the others borderline prospects. Lets face it after 7 seasons of mising the playoffs one would expect that we would have some decent prospects in the system. That in itself certainly doesn't qualify Slats as a GM genius. Considering that its taken him 4 seasons to get to this point hardly speaks well for him, does it?

Baranka is a gem. He'll be a rock on the defense for years, great to see him developing those leadership skills that went unnoticed in juniors.

Our Euro scouts earn every penny.

Clarkson and Voros are hardly goons, Janssen is the only home grown enforcer and he can play hockey well also. He knows his role, to go out, drill the defensmen and fight and he is damn good at it.
