?

Shouldn't be anything.

- doesn't leave his feet
- keeps his arm tight against his body

yes, his body connects with Letangs face/head, but that's more a result of Letang leading with his face then it is MP targeting his head.

If Shannahan stays consistent, then it shouldn't be anything... MP clearly didn't target the head and delivered a clean check, no way for him to adjust at the last second b/c Letang went face first.

countdown to thread on main board by Bruins fan about the hit and how MP should get suspended & a criminal case openend... 10..9...8...

Make an example of the player they let down by letting Chara off scot free? I highly doubt that.

None. If Malone didn't get suspended for the ten times worse hit on Campoli, I'm not sure how this can even be a fine.

anyone catch that?

Letang gets back on the ice for first time after hit... MP is on, as he skates by him he says something (clearly an apology), Letang seems to clearly indicate by his body language and head nod that he isn't pissed about the hit.

I'm no lip reader, but there was CLEARLY no anger in Letang's demeanor... if HE felt it was a dirty or cheap play, he wouldn't have been so gracious literally 5 minutes after the hit.

i think this one is clearly a non-issue... interesting to see what Shanny does (if it even gets reviewed).

None. But its the Habs...Shanny will suspend him. Such a bush league, Shanny has no clue what to do these days. His decisions are confusing for everyone.

I think Patches should have texted him. You know Chara did, he was serious about not wanting to hurt him.

Zero.

Pacioretty committed to the hit like Malone did on Campoli. Letang put himself into position, lowering his head at the last moments before contact much like Shanahan said Campoli did.

You can compare these two quite easily, the outcome should be the same.

If it was Matt Cooke it would be a lifetime suspension.

He gets two games if the ruling is consistent with previous Shanahan decisions.

Zero... if Shanny is consistent.

No blindside, no charging, no elbow.

Not ALL headshots are suspendable and IMO this was one of them. Letang was leaning after taking the shot and MacPac was already committed to hit Letang. No time for MaxPac to change direction or do anything else.

None. Elbow was tucked in, no charge, player had the puck.

Blindside has nothing to do with a hit now...
