The ref couldn't see the puck. Even if he did, Price had control of it for enough time for him to blow the whistle.
And if not, the goal should have been waved because Neal should have had a goalie interference penalty when he came from behind the net and skated right through Price, who was off-balance and didn't have the chance to make the save.
****ing bs.... he had it covered for a good 5-6 seconds..... not to mention he was interfered with
Quickest 5-6 seconds I've ever witnessed.
Regardless, the play should have been called dead. Ref was on the wrong side of the net and had no idea Price had it under his glove. Terrible non-call, but whatcha going to do. Refs can't be everywhere all the time.
Score 2 goals that get reviewed and have the 3rd one count automatically.
In hindsight the Habs were given every chance to win this game, and shouldnt have let it come down to that.
That being said that shouldn't have counted. The ref wasn't In a position to see though, so he didn't blow the whistle. Normally they blow it when they can't see the puck but we all ***** about that too, so I guess they can't win.
The only thing controversial about it was that it had to happen in Overtime. Seriously, the Pens put up 5 on Montreal during regulation. Montreal didn't even sniff that end of the ice for the last half of the game either.
