This! Especially since the Hawks played last night.

And I feel like I live in North Korea with this shot mentality cult, now Fox has been sucked in. We here him talking about "shot mentality" then they go interview Trent Hunter and the first thing he says is "shot mentality". Both Gagne and Loktionov made the right play, if both those passes connect they are prime scoring chances, especially Gagne's. I'll take making a pass to our best player who was driving the goal over a low percentage shot from outside the faceoff dot.

Shooting the puck is not always the best play guys.

And LOL at O'Neil guy is such a tool, "Trent Hunter, from training camp tryout to making things happen on the 3rd line" ... Yeah like anyone on that line has been making things happen.
But I thought Chicago would never be the same after they "screwed" their salary cap. Remeber when people here told us they prefer the Kings way of competing for a decade instead of being one and done like Chicago

The Kings look very uninspired to me, apart from maybe a couple of guys. They are playing very un-threatening hockey for the most part offensively (so what else is new). Kings forwards aren't supporting each other on the puck very well, and show big problems getting the puck up ice, with Kopitar being the chief exception to that.

seriously. both those passes were going straigh to the slot for a point blank chance.. both those guys are some our best playmakers on the ice. thats what they need to do. make plays! not throw a weak shot on goal only to be stopped/directed towards the boards.

O'neil is and idiot but very entertaining ha!

I don't even bother analyzing the first periods any more. There's obviously between the ears stuff going on because these same guys come out for 2nd periods and look like a completely different team.

1st period: http://www.nhl.com/ice/teamstats.htm...=goalsByPeriod

2nd period: http://www.nhl.com/ice/teamstats.htm...=goalsByPeriod

It's baffling/frustrating the contrast. San Jose has the same issue. It's bizarre.

The Hawks are the worst PK team in the league? Surprising. GO KINGS!

Why try to outscore your opponent in the first 20 minutes? Terry Murray is clearly employing the Rocky strategy, allow your opponent to get all of their offense in then try to score when they punch themselves out. Clearly this has delivered successful results for Terry Murray.

Man we're having a hard time against the WORST PKing team in the NHL, making them look elite.

Kings finally gain the blueline and instead of pulling up and setting up the PP, Williams throws a lazy wrist shot at Crawford and the Hawks clear.

SHOT MENTALITY!!

The Kings power play has been terrible the last 15 games so don't be too surprised. They're running under 16% the past 15 games.
