Dean Lombardi and Terry Murray hockey at it's finest.
Six seasons under the leadership of Dean Lombardi and this is where we stand. Can't even score goals.
When are you guys going to open your eyes and realize Murray and Lombardi hockey is a relic of a long gone era of NHL hockey. The days of clogging the neutral zone and grinding out 2-1 wins is over.
If you can't score goals in today's NHL you are not going to win, period.
I will watch and root for them every game, but part of me really thinks missing the playoffs might be the best thing for this franchise long term. We need to get people that have a clue about the current NHL in positions of power within this franchise. And sadly another first round exit will probably just keep the status quo.
Ethan Moreau and Trent Hunter aside, is anyone else extremely disappointed by Dustin Brown's play? His questionable decision making with the puck tends to kill many offensive opportunities for the Kings. As the captain of the team, I would think he is someone who needs to set an example, and if he's going to lead by example, then I guess I he's leading the Kings nowhere.
on the bright side....if this keeps up, Lombardi will actually be forced to do something.
This is the perfect team, he has had five seasons, this is clearly his vision of the team he wants. He thinks the way to win is grind out 2-1 wins. The forced to do something should be a total overhaul of the vision of how this franchise should be built and what style they will play.
And it's going to take a lot more than a coaching change, plus with as great as his first two hires have been do we really want to give him a third shot?
