I'd like to resign Moen & Georges from the UFA's.

Price, Subban, Eller, White, Emelin from the UFA's

Only UFA I really want to retain his Gorges but if his salary expectations are too high we'll have to let him go. I don't think AK have prove enough to justify a rise, if he accept a 3.25m salary I keep him. Same apply for Moen, he doesnt deserve more than 1.5M$.

In a perfect world Gorges re-sign at 15M$ for four years (3,75M per), Kostitsyn stay at 3,25M$ for 1 year, and Moen re-signs at 3M$ for 2 years.

I keep every RFA but Nokelainen and Ennqvist.

Only Gorges as a UFA, maybe Moen for real cheap...that's it.

A.Kost is waaay to inconsistent to sign for a 4-5 year deal for 4M$+. I have a feeling he'll end up in Pittsburgh (who needs wingers) or Nashville (with his brother).

Eller (2 years 1,6), Nokelainen (2 years 600 000, I'm bored that they change up the 4th line C each season), Emelin (2 years 1,5), Diaz (2 years 1,5), Subban (2 years 3, to prove himself), Price (4 years 5,7)

Then give small deals to the others RFA

Price will get around 7mil a year... and Subban probably a Tyler Myers-like contract.

Price isn't UFA and I don't think Subban will get the numbers to have a Myers contract. (remember that Myers had a 48 pts season followed with a 37 pts season).

Well Subban already had a 38 point season and is on pace for around 35, with an offensively anemic team. Once markov comes back and he isn't the one other teams are keying in on, Subban will have a lot more room to be creative offensively.

That being said, I agree that subban won't get some ridiculous contract, and neither will price. Gauthier seems to be more aggressive than gainey (it would be hard not to) in re-signing our own UFA's and RFA's. Or at least that's the impression I got.

Guys, i know Moen is having a good year, but let's not lose sight of the fact that he was pretty average his first two years here. Also, there is no point overpaying for third and fourth liners like him. If there is one area teams can save cap space on, its third and fourth liners and fifth and sixth defensemen. I would not resign any of our UFA's. Save the money and throw it all at a stud defenseman (i think Weber or Suter will be available from Nashville), and a stud forward (Parise). As much as I like Gorges, he is not worth the higher salary and contract length he will ask for. Trade Akost and Cammy at the deadline for hopefully some decent young talent. Finally, sign Price and Subban to long term deals. Oh and as for Gomez....

Issue with Price will be contract length more so than avg cap hit. At age 24, agents are probably looking for a 3 to 4 year deal to have hit UFA at his peak around 27-28. Team would probably want a 5 or 6 year deal.

I'm thinking something along the lines of 5yr/26M

Hoping Moen gets resigned. He's quite young and playing great, also great in the playoffs. I hate the way the team cuts loose great role players when they've become UFA's thinking youngsters can replace them. Imagine a checking line of Moen - Moore - Kostopoulos? I'm worried PG will let Moen walk thinking White can replace him, when really we'd be better off with both and White replacing Darche.

With Darche, Spacek, and Gill (probably) getting a pat on the back and "thank you for your services" at the end of the year, should be able to use their money to keep Gorges, Moen, and Kostitsyn around. Campoli will have a few months to impress, we'll see what happens there. He could be a good #4-#5 next year, but is a real wild card.

Markov, Subban, Gorges, Emelin, Campoli, a tough S.O.B., and one of Webiaz could be a decent back-end. Although, maybe they would throw another year at Gill for a reduced rate. Spacek seems unlikely with his injury troubles.
