Iginla?

Living in Calgary (kings fan) I've been hearing a lot of whispers of Iginla potentially wanting out. Is this someone Kings fans would want? If so what would it cost? Funny enough the radio station here has been using the Penner trade as a comparable. It would obviously cost a bit more than that.

What does everyone think?

If the Penner trade is comparable, but a little more is required, how about Penner, Hunter, and Moreau?

Way too expensive and won't be the difference maker.

Giving-up they type of assets it would take to acquire him would be counterproductive to the team considering his age

Lol! We'll even throw in Dan Cloutier and Roman Cechmanek.

Lombardi didn't pull the trigger when Calgary offered up Iginla for Schenn for a reason. And wasn't Iginla injured to begin the season or didn't he miss training camp or something... Lombardi would be really desperate if he went for it this time. Besides the Kings need a scoring LWer not another RWer. Calgary looks like a team fading into the sunset they are in need of a youth tranfusion badly...so to your question I wouldn't offer a whole bunch for Iginla maybe Hickey, but stupider things have happened just look at Penner trade...

Iginla is not the answer. At this point I think the same approach that was used to build the goaltending, defenseman, and centerman depth in the organization needs to be used to build some depth on the wings.

I think that process has already started with the drafting of players like Toffoli and Vey. If Lombardi can accelerate it by trading a good young defenseman for a good young winger with top six potential he should probably do it.

Why can't they just fire Murray? Isn't that THE solution?

You all act as if players like Brown, Williams, and Doughty have never scored goals with Murray as their coach.

I like Iginla, but having him on the books next season for 7 mil would hinder our ability to add a long term option on the wing. (Not to say I'm optimistic in our ability to do so anyway)

Love Iginla.

Hate his cap hit.

He will improve our team today.

He will hurt our team tomorow.

For the right price I would trade for him.

The right price imo is Penner (because salary needs to go back), Hickey, and a 2nd.
